Have you ever choked on a water bottle wrapper? Well I have, I don’t know how old I was. My mom has mentioned the story in the past. I found it humorous and so I decided to write about it. Silly children do silly things right? Well let me stop procrastinating and get to the story. On another hot day in Miami,Florida a little girl named Lauren laid bored in the living room. “I'm so bored” I would say to myself. Then mysteriously I saw a Deer Park water bottle . It seemed as if it was calling my name ‘Lauren, Lauren come here.” So I went to grab it as I approached it I thought to myself. Look at how tall and brave the bottle stands as if nothing can tear it down but the wrapper. Oh the wrapper. It was a picture that could not be described in
Day one of the trip we rode a travel bus for 24 hours to Florida. We left at 8:00 a.m. On the road we went. By the time that we passed Greeley, Kansas, Mr. Russell, our band teacher, suddenly asked if we had brought the banner. The banner is a banner that two girls hold that have our school on it. As it turns
While we sat in our rambling tan and yellow cabin among the trees at 416 Spencer Falls Lane at Big Bear Lake, we watched the gloomy rain fall all morning long. Finally, the storm passed and the dark gray clouds passed over, the sun shone brightly on the wet grass. Yes, the day soon was as pleasant as any other august day, of course we knew it was frequently the case with a warm summer rain. This time, however, the rain had swelled the river washed away our small wooded bridge. Elaine my youngest sister sat beside the washed out bridge, she was so unhappy because it was loss. It was then that a shiny blue convertible drove up beside her, the four of us, our names are: William, Martina, Ella and David, watched as the car approached, it was around
One time she decided she was going to write a kind of book. It is going to be a small book, but it was still going to be a book. Most days after school, and when she wasn’t playing with the yellow monkey, she would sit out in her playhouse. She had a nice playhouse in the backyard with a window seat and plenty of light in there. It was warm in the spring
In a land far far away in Santa Barbara, California, there was a girl named Danielle who lived with her Paw Paw. She was very insecure and never really knew who she was, because she always followed the crowd. One day at school she gets an assignment where she has to write about herself. But she doesn’t know what to write! She is very upset; because she has never failed a school assignment in her life and she doesn’t want to start now. So she asks her best friend, Alexia, and asks for her to write it for her. Alexia said that she was sorry but she didn’t want to get in trouble.
I always thought I was a water-resistant plant, the kind with thick, rubbery leaves, intended to withstand burdensome rivers of water flowing over them. However, as the murky sky above the Boston Commons spat, each pelting raindrop withered me. How did this happen? I was the girl who flopped her limbs in ‘rain dances’ on the elementary school lawn and begged classmates to scribble ‘precipitation’ on their Christmas wishlists.
There were two choices: mop the kitchen, or dump out two thousand cartons of spoiled macadamia nut milk. Sadly we didn’t get the first choice. The boys decided to mop the kitchen, which they probably didn’t know how to do. We got to work, two girls opening boxes, two more opening cartons, and another girl and myself were emptying the cartons into the sink. It wasn’t really that bad, only a faint smell of something bad, I thought we got the easy job. That is until we kept working. Unloading box after box the smell grew stronger. It smelled worse than a barnyard by the time we reached the bottom rack.
My brother, my mom, his friend, and I was going to a Vacation for the weekend, driving to San Diego. We've admire and took picture of the sun setting the ocean with the rippling flow and could hear the noise of the ocean fresh breezes, when we got the hotel we was all tired, but we had to get registered a room to go to sleep in. The next day my mom , my brother, and his friend went somewhere without me, selling puppy's to two people. When I waked up and notice that they was gone, I called my mom and said," Mom where are you guys, and long has it been since you guys left," she said, " three hours, and selling the puppy's right now, but it will take a while when come back, so get ready to go get something to eat, ok," ok," I said. when I was
It was a new day. I had spent it exploring the parts of the backyard that I hadn’t seen before. My sister, Tia and I were eating the crab apples and currants. Our dog, Lacey was following us around. Soon my uncle arrived back at the house. He offered to take us around the property in an ATV. We blissfully agreed and hopped on the back of the ATV. Our dog followed us up the mountain, but something caught her eye. She ran down after it. We didn't think anything of it and kept on the ATV.
If you say or do certain things, you may get a water bottle dumped on you. In the cafeteria where everyone is watching to laugh and point, and the teachers are there screaming at you to sit down. Teachers rush in to separate it before it gets more serious.
It was a nice building. The carpeting was handmade by Mrs. Dela. She was the old woman that lived on the first floor with her husband, Mr. Dela. Every morning, they were found outside watering the flowers. Mrs. Dela especially took pride in the tree that casted a shadow above the building. My mom always had something cooking in the kitchen, and my dad was always home before 5:30. My brother, tall and masculine, would pride himself on his athletic ability. My best friend Curly, lived in the building as long as I did. He was one day older than me and he never let me live it down. He always had his hand running through his curly, jet black hair and his goofy smile never failed to cheer me up. His mom was a nice woman. She worked a lot because Curly’s dad left them. He was an only child, so we spent most of our time together. When we were about five a new kid moved in. His name was Benny. Benny was a boy of few words, unlike Curly who never shut up. He moved in with his mom, stepdad, and two step sisters. Benny was a good listener. Curly and I talked and talked, and he would just listen. And everything was okay. Until…
Finding soda bottles was easy enough, too. At fourteen, he had to walk everywhere he had to go, including a babysitting job he started when he turned thirteen. He worked for a young single mom that needed a conscientious, but cheaply paid person to watch her kids in the afternoon, so she could work at a consignment shop. His reputation was established by his mom because she always boasted about the things her oldest son could do, and also that he was a natural-born child nurturer. There's where a big but comes in. What little money he made from the job was confiscated by his parents and deposited into a bank account that he never did see, nor was he allowed to ask how much it had grown. It turned out that the money he made was used to buy
One day in March, my friend, sister, and I were walking home from Plain City Elementary. We decided to stop at Maverik on the way home. We crossed the parking lot, inhaling the pungent smell of gasoline. We were all parched, so we headed for the drink section. After looking there for a while, we meandered our way over to the gum and candy aisle. This is where the story gets weird.
We drove in the truck towards the direction of where the doe ran. Adrenaline was rushing through my body. Was the doe going to be there? It was my first time shooting a deer. I desperately wanted to find her dead in the field. My heart was pounding with anticipation and excitement. For a minute it felt as if my heart was going to burst out of my chest. When we pulled up I saw her on the ground. There she was, my first deer. Beaming with pride and joy, I looked at my grandfather. He looked at me with a smile and said, “That was a great shot I am proud of
It was finally summer vacation and my family and I decided to go to the beach as soon as the last day of school ended. While I sat in my seat in class, the anticipation of going to the beach kept me from concentrating, all I saw was the teacher's familiar mouth formations, speaking to the class about some Post World War Two battle involving a conspiracy about Hitler and the Nazi regime in the classroom. I sat there, in the tan metal chair attached to the wooden desk next to the wall, waiting. Time passed by and my excitement increased as I rushed out of the room, down the dim hallway, past the office out the glass, front doors to see my family parked in the teeming parking lot. As soon as I got into the car, my dad hit the gas pedal and we were off to our beloved destination. Hours passed and we neared the beach, and I could see the ocean and the grainy sand. We were almost there and I could not contain my enthusiasm. I was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning! We got to the parking lot and I could see the towering building above me awaiting my presence. I leaped out of the car with my items and headed straight to the glass doors. I sped up the stairs, to the third floor, down the hallway, to the sixth door on the right. I dropped my stuff off into the room and went straight outside and out to the beach because I could not wait any longer.
It was a sunny morning in California,it was also my 15th birthday.I got out of bed and did my morning routine. I opened my closet to chose what I should where today, I found a dress that was white until your stomach and then was purple with a flow free bottom.I matched some white flats with my dress and headed downstairs.I greeted my mom “Good morning mom.” I noticed that dad was nowhere near by. “Mom where's dad ?” “ Honey something urgent came up so your dad had to step out.How about we get some breakfast from dunkin.” I nodded my head so we stepped out the house. When we arrived I ordered a glazed donut, mom got herself a chocolate sprinkle donut and got dad a pumpkin spice donut. We finished up eating and headed home.
