The water we drink straight out of the tap contains chlorine. The municipal water supply companies have to add the chlorine to kill bacteria and make our water safe. However, chlorine is a known carcinogen. In addition the EPA estimates that one-fifth of our public water supplies contain VOC's (volatile organic chemicals) which can create a wide variety of health problems. One of he most simple ways of removing these contaminants is to use a water filter pitcher that will filter them out. This type of water filter is easy to use and maintain and requires no installation. In addition filter pitchers and their replacement filters are readily accessible at local retailers and at online shopping malls. Each one of the water filter pitchers listed …show more content…

Faced the problem of losing customer faith in the Brita brand. Brita had slowed established a string brand position among consumers over the ten year period since 1988. It grew to be a $200m grossing company from a small filter system provider. Brand awareness stood at 70% and 18% of 103m households in US used Brita pitchers. This reputation was at stake due to the decline in sales and
My second big decision involved picking which size coffee maker I wanted. I had the choice to either pick a dual capacity or a high capacity coffee maker. The difference in the price between them are $3,000 and $6,000, respectively. The dual capacity

In 1992, sales units in faucet mounts are 3 times more than those in pitchers. It seems that Brita had tried to take the market share from faucet mounts system at first. They might struggle to inform customer with pitcher system’s benefits, so they could be known as a consideration set. And after that, as people’s needs for purified water were growing, they could enlarge their market.
Refillable water bottles may seem expensive, but in the long run it will be much cheaper. “On average, Americans spend about $5 a week on bottled water, this means you can save $260 per year by switching to a reusable water bottle” (Speer par. 5). This statistic shows just how much the average American (the world wide statistic was not available) can save yearly, let alone in a lifetime. This statistic also does not include the average money a year a person spends on soda pop, tea, coffee, or other drinks that could be put into the refillable bottle if they are bought in bulk. Many people say they do not have money to buy a nice refillable water bottle, but most people do have the money it would take to buy an eight dollar Contigo refillable bottle from Walmart that would do the job. Up to one fifth of Americans have tap water that is not drinkable (Karp par. 1). However, there are refillable water bottles with filters. Refillable water bottles with filters may be more expensive, but it is easy to find a cheap one at Walmart. For example someone could buy a ten dollar Brita filter water bottle. Investing in a refillable bottle will already save someone money after one month of use.

The water is packaged in plastic water bottles, and comes 24 bottles to a package (containing 16.9 FL OZ per bottle). Then it is encased in plastic wrapping, and placed closest to the floor. This brand is the cheapest because it is purified water versus like spring water. Many times people view spring water as more natural, and therefore it’s more expensive. The main reason behind this brand being the cheapest is because it is the store brand. Typically, people who buy “Schnucks Purified Drinking
Yes I do feel that the efforts to gain equal rights and right for traditionally excluded people are still incomplete. Society is still suffering from the after effects of slavery. Although, we as a society are looked at as all human beings with the same life value, it is not that simple. The efforts for everyone to be equal has made a tremendous improvement it still has not made enough to say that we are all equal in society. The African American community and Hispanic community are very inferior to the Caucasian community. Society has made it very clear about how they feel about the African American and Hispanic community. The media, television, education are very stereotypical on the “inferior” communities. The media has depicted African Americans as ghetto, uneducated, Drug lords, crack victims and classless.
Another way that you could save money is by investing in a filter of some sort, and drinking water from the facet.
Not only is pollution the cause of the death of many organisms essential to ecological balance, but human drinking water has also been affected.
Clean water supply is essential in establishing and maintaining a healthy community. There are two sources of water supply which are the surface water and ground water. Most natural waters are not suitable for consumption as it is contaminated by pathogens and also natural chemicals and minerals. In addition, as a city grew, wastes from human activities contaminate most of the water supplies. Water treatment plays an important role to properly treat a contaminated source of water supply in order to protect the health of consumers. Water treatment process is defined as a process of eliminating pollutants from untreated water to produce a biologically and chemically risk-free water, which is both potable and palatable for human consumption
Being a vegetarian was not a matter of choice for Gandhi, his parents were devout worshipers of the god Vishnu and therefore vegetarians. During his childhood, some of Gandhi’s friends encouraged him to eat meat however as a sign of his respect and obedience to his parents, he refused their offerings and said: “Lying to one’s parents was much worse than eating meat.”. ” Before he left India, Gandhi’s mother had made him promise not to stray from the family’s strict vegetarian diet.” (GANDHI A POLITICAL AND SPIRITUAL LIFE PG 4). One day while he was walking, he saw a copy of Henry Salt’s Plea for Vegetarianism on the window of a restaurant in Farrington Street. At that moment, he found out that there was a London Vegetarian Society and moreover
