I have worked in management consulting for over four years now. Over this time, I have learned much about business operations, financial management, and how the two are mutually related. In particular, my assignments with clients in the media industry has shown me how a cost cutting policy can lead to better evaluated investment decisions and, in the end, obtain better results with less resources. I have realized that the right investment strategies can help companies save their money in surplus years, building a reserve that they can tap into for future growth.
I think that right now I am at an inflection point in my career. I have built up a strong set of skills in consulting, but now I need to move on. I am eager to boost my career into

Personally speaking, playing water polo since I was 10, I learned how to be respectful of rules and opponents, how to work in team, and the discipline and accountability necessary to achieve a common goal, to name a few. Over the years, I realized that pouring such values into a kid means far more than teaching a sport, it means making a better man.
Thus, knowing how much I owe to water polo and its culture, I decided that my way to throw something back is to put my best effort into its expansion in Italy, and I believe that, because of the above mentioned reasons, this would also result in a service provided to the whole community.
In order to do so, I need a deeper understanding of how a business is run, to learn all the peculiarities of the sports business management, and to enhance my persuasion and leadership skills in order to take on increasing responsibilities in my career. The MBA is the only degree that will help me acquire all of

In the closely-knit niche industry of sports business, network connections and word-of-mouth referrals can be the difference between make and break. This is why I think that having the opportunity to join the Entertainment, Media and Technology Association would be a real plus to me. Moreover, being so close to the headquarters of all the major American leagues, not to mention the various franchises at hand, will for sure make the difference.
The diversity of the student community at NYU will give me exposure to foreign cultures, thereby broadening my perspective of the world. This diversity would also result in a healthy fusion of ideas, which I can tap into.
When I realized that I need an MBA degree, NYU Stern immediately fell into my shortlist. Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to talk to former NYU Stern MBA graduate Dan DeVece (class of 2015), who impressed upon me the opportunities that NYU Stern can provide both inside and outside the class, with specific emphasis on its ability to carry on nontraditional recruitment through its alumni network and its students
Academically, I want to have insight on all related processes that go into a business and its decisions
Virtually all general managers face capital-budgeting decisions in the course of their careers. Among the most common of these is the either/or choice about a capital investment. The following describes some general guidelines to orient the decision-maker in these situations.
Another factor that attracted me to NYU is the location of the campus, New York City. Students can develop themselves by taking advantage of their different environments in New York City. Being raised in a small, rural town there were not many opportunities where I could
The 2002 internal report states: NYU is a completely different institution than it was twenty years ago and quite different than it was only ten years ago.” During that time, it implemented a recruitment strategy marked by a continuing ability to attract some of the best graduate and professional students in the world. NYU has more international students than any other university in the United States. NYU currently houses more than twice as many students as it did ten years ago. The SAT scores of entering undergraduates are at unprecedented levels, having risen nearly 100 points in less than a decade. The academic trajectory of most units is on the ascent, although there are inevitable differences among
Capital budgeting is the most important management tool that enables managers of the organization to select the investment option that yields comprehensive cash flows and rate of return. For managers availability of capital whether in form of debt or equity is very limited and thus it become imperative for them to invest their limited and most important resource in perfect option that could prove to beneficial for the organization in the long run (Hickman et al, 2013). However, while using capital budgeting tool managers must understand its quantitative and qualitative considerations that are discussed below.
Youth sports help youth build strong morals and values. Stephen Keener describes the Little League World Series as been filled with heartwarming scenes. Some of these include, “A third baseman giving a high five to an opposing player as he rounds the bases after a home run.” This shows the values these kids have learned from youth sports. To work together, and not lash out at people, but just have fun. People of all ages are inspired by these acts of kindness. Stephen Kenner also says, “While Striving to win, children learn about teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship, all of which can contribute to their development as solid citizens.” All of these values are critically important to children as they Develop, learn, and grow up. Children do not only learn from being humble, but also learn by trying their best to win.
When I think of NYU happiness because it makes me know that students of different cultures and religions can come together as one culture within itself, as an African Muslim woman all you want is to feel like you're part of a community. That's what I love about NYU,I feel you can be with someone else that's not the same as who you are yet you're able to share the same passion or compatibilities with that person.Living in the city area makes it even better because there are vast amount of opportunities that you wouldn't get anywhere else. At NYU they embellish on who you are and how you can contribute to helping the world to become a better place united as one. When I went to the open house ,once I saw the building and atmosphere I could see myself at NYU Tisch. At Tisch I hope to perceive things differently. As a writer it brings me the best of excitement because all I ever wanted to do was write, imagine and act .It takes a lot for a school to be this diverse, social and educated rigorously with great academics and still make people feel like they are welcome as a community.
Being an immigrant in a big city like New York, not everyone, has an opportunity to go to a university that includes different cultures. The diversity helps individual to accept the differences of others. The multicultural environment can help me feel accepted by my peers and get to know about other cultures. There will be many students and staff that I will be able to relate to. This can help me get a broader view of education and knowledge. Everyone has to face difficulties being in this city, but it also makes the individual tougher. It motivates people to learn more about others struggle and make them their strength. Being in NYU will help me find myself and learn about different opportunities. Often, immigrants are seen as “second-class
This may sound cliche and ordinary, but it is one hundred percent true; as a young boy, one of my biggest dreams has always been to attend NYU. NYU is in the heart and soul of New York, Manhattan, where the culture is different and environment is uniquely filled with: intellectual, cultural, and unbelievable first time experiences. Growing up, I have lived in one of the most indistinguishable neighborhoods in one of the most diverse boroughs in New York; Flushing, Queens, home of the bizarre and unusual. Although I have lived in New York my entire life, I have never actually experienced the city life. I have always been a suburban type of kid, and I believe it is finally time for a change. It is time to experience the ethnic diversity that
As a person who was born and raised in New York City, the letters N, Y, and U are practically tattooed on my heart. NYU is legendary, its New York campus sits in a magical part of the city, no school can compare. There is something indescribable about New York and I cannot imagine leaving this place. New York City is my home, there is no substitute for its distinct hustle and bustle. There is a drive that only New Yorkers have, always rushing, racing, going; we simply move to a beat of our own. NYU is iconic, it is a part of every day life for us. From Langone Medical Center to NYU Film School, the work done at NYU is world renowned. NYU is the greatest thing that has ever happened to New York and I desperately want to be a part of its greatness.
I would paint “she believed she could, so she did” on the Beta Bridge. It is a message of encouragement for girls and women that my mom shared with me during a big transition for our family. We lived in Charlottesville for fourteen years and moved to Vermont before my freshman year of high school. I was upset about the move - leaving great friends, familiar schools and terrific tennis in Virginia. I took next steps each day, meeting new friends, registering for classes and trying out for varsity tennis. I did well in school and made the tennis team, starting in doubles and singles my freshman year and then winning three consecutive team state championships. I trained outside of school and participated in USTA tournaments, working to the number one ranking for USTA 18s in Vermont. What seemed like a setback after middle school turned into learning opportunities for believing in myself, navigating new circumstances and training to win.
It was kind of hard to think about a time that I had failed. It was so difficult for me that I had to ask my dad and with good discretion, he told me about the time I had epically failed in my water polo career.
New York University is a school that amazes me in every aspect. With its WRITE QUALITIES. Nonetheless, the location of the school is what takes my breath away—New York City. To me, the city is a mystifying place left to be explored by its many inhabitants; a place of discovery, wonder, excitement, confusion, and opportunities. Diversity is a huge part of NYU as its student body contains numerous international students and people of color. The chance to learn about different cultures and ideas inspires me as the diversity doesn’t stop at the school’s buildings. It continues into every borough of the city and would allow me to connect with unique people and their backgrounds.
To achieve my goal of being the Business/Divisional Manager, I need to have an MBA degree which is one thing that I have already started and will surely be completing successfully within three years’ time i.e. end 2015. And I am already having the management experience of 6 years now. With 4 years of experience as a Head of the department, and that too with reputable aviation firm in South Africa.
I understand that doing MBA is not an easy job; it requires lot of hard work. It is not simply learning theory and writing it in exam paper. In fact, it is a field that prepares you for the practical world of business. Therefore, I will have to do a lot more than simple learning; which will be going to different organizations for interviews, preparing thesis, designing marketing campaigns, doing internships and a lot more.
