Great Gatsby Symbolism Essay

In the book, “The Great Gatsby,” written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, I had found a few symbols that seemed to interest me but the one that caught my attention the most was “the weather.”

One example of the symbol “weather” was the weather in one section of the book was misty and dark where Gatsby deemed to be, looking across the lake at the green light. I believe that this is a representation of the rough path Gatsby will go through to get Daisy back. “While the rain continued, it had seemed like murmur of their voices, rising and swelling a little now and then gust with emotion.” This can also be a portrayal of the future, where Daisy stays with Tom and Gatsby has passed on.
