Lick Creek Park is made up of 500 acres of a variety of plant and animal species native to the College Station, TX area. It is located on the southeastern corner of College Station, TX in the Post Oak savanna vegetation zone. The park covers a section of the flood plain and is a primary tributary for the Navasota River. The soil in the area consist primarily of sandy loam, sandy, and sandy clay loam. According to a report by the city of College Station, “College Station has a temperate climate with warm summers and mild winters. The mean average annual temperature over the past 30 years (between 1981 and 2010) was 69°F. The average high and average low during the same time frame was 79.2°F and 58.8°F respectively. The hottest month on average is August, with an average maximum temperature of 96.2°F (1981 to 2010). The coolest month is typically January with an average low temperature of 41.2°F. Annual occurring precipitation averages over 40 inches a year, with the most rainfall occurring during June and October, which have average 4.45 inches and 4.91 inches, respectively”(City of College Station). Lick Creek Park has two distinct microclimates: the upland Savanna and Bottomland forest.
In this essay, I will be taking on the role of the head administrator, of the Northumberland Community Garden. I will be writing a proposal letter to the American Community Gardens Association, to try and receive funding for the Northumberland Community Gardens. In this letter, I will give a basic outline of the program development stages, evaluation process, and financial aspects of my organization. I will also include other information that would be considered relevant to understanding my purpose for creating this program.
The ACA establishes the Shared Savings Program in a new section 1899 of the Social Security Act. ACA § 3022 (codified at 42 U.S.C. § 1395jjj). The purpose of the program is to bend the health sector cost curve, and to facilitate coordination and cooperation between providers to improve quality for fee-for-service Medicare beneficiaries. Eligible providers can (but are not mandated) to participate in the Shared Savings Program by creating or participating in an Accountable Care Organization (“ACO”).
On Saturday February 4th, I took the tram ride exploring Circle B Bar Reserve. Susan was the tram driver; Nancy was the tour guide and volunteers John and his son were the spotters. We toured three ecosystems of the reserve: wetlands, oak hammock, and highland scrub. It was interesting to learn the history of how the area was once wetland and they paid ranchers to drain the area for cattle ranching. Years later the property was purchased by Polk County Commissioners and the Southwest Florida Management District as the area needed the wetland to filter the water system. As a result, the wetland has created a haven for birds and presently there are 230 plus species in the area and Circle B Bar Reserve has become one of the best places for
Positioned in eastern Tallahassee off the Apalachee Parkway, it offers an ideal location that is in close proximity to shopping centers, the Capitol, and within walking distance of both Lincoln High School and Swift Creek Middle School. Of greatest importance to this proposal, it borders the Lafayette Heritage Trail Park, which features two trails, one that heads east and follows the edge of Piney-Z Lake and one that heads west that leads to Tom Brown Park following the Upper Lake Lafayette. So our “neighborhood” will be a triangle of land that spans from Piney Z to Lafayette Heritage Trail Park to Tom Brown Park and for the sake of this proposal, we will call it the “Lafayette Neighborhood.” We chose this neighborhood because we feel, due to its location, it’s a prime spot to invest in the promotion of healthy living through a variety of outlets stemming from the trails that link to the numerous amenities of Tom Brown
Project constraints include the pre-set budget of $10,000 and the deadline of 4:00pm local time on 3 July 2012.
The environment around us in Southwest Florida is beautiful, but also delicate. From the tall cabbage palms to the shortest saw palmetto, the foliage that surrounds us represents life in Southwest Florida. The environment in Florida is extremely fragile and steps need to be taken in order to preserve its beauty. The first settlers in Florida sacrificed their living conditions to be surrounded by snakes, bobcats, and bears. From their sacrifice, Americans were able to settle one of the most beautiful places in the United States. Now, Florida has been bulldozed down and is filled with gated communities and retirement centers. The Florida landscape has taken many hits throughout the years, but it still manages to grow up through the concrete and show what Florida used to look like. The fragile environment in South West Florida needs to be protected for future generations to enjoy.

Overall, the Vacant Lot Restoration Program can be described as “successful” given that 21 of the original 24 community projects selected as part of the program have accomplished several stages in the restoration process over as many as five semi-annual planting seasons (Parks & People Foundation, 2002). It empowers over 350 people in 24, and later 30 different communities establishing
Located in the middle of Stokes county 0.62 square miles is claimed to a small town of Danbury, estimated population is 187. Although to be little Danbury holds a “Gem” in Stokes county. Back in the 1930’s, the Stokes County Committee in hopes for a State Park, donated 3,096 acres of land. This began the construction of what is now known as Hanging Rock State Park. Since then, serval thousands of acres have been bought and donated, now in 2017 the total acreage is over 7,000. Of course, the first essential constituent of a State Park was land, once the land was obtained, the Civilian Conservation Corps came into the picture. On September 17, 2017, I interviewed a park ranger ___________ on a Hiking tour located in Hanging Rock State Park.
With help from the Wildlife Preservation the design aspects of my engineering design team will be able to implement a design that shows how the species will be protected and precautionary manners that will be taken if the plan fails. Public representation is a must-have for this project because you don’t want to seem as angry people who are mainly trying to use the government money for the wrong reason. This is not what I support. I want to be able to research these flowers and understand how they evolve and how there adaptions help them maintain their environment. Many citizens don’t know about the endangered species or think that only animals have the ability to be endangered. I want to change that viewpoint even if I have to jump over hurdles to get through it. My team and I are ready to make that decisions even if we have to jump over milestones to get our message
Global Shapers Norfolk will be involved in the design, formation, and construction of the garden. Also, all costs of the project will be covered by the organization as well. However, the overall goal of this project is to encourage the communities and outside organizations to get involved as well. The rain garden will become part of the community.
Without the 15th century the world would look majorly different than it does today. If we removed the 15th century out of existence a ton of good would be from it, but a ton of bad would too. Many people made decisions that they never even knew were going to change the world and how people lived on earth. The 15th Century was a century of discoveries, political, and social changes. It would be a century that would make the world a smaller place.
Tackling a project of this magnitude will require several phases of execution. The phases are as follows: Non-for-profit (NFP) entity start-up, Financing, Acquisition, Renovation, and Management.
In addition to the WBS and in order to calculate roughly the PEP’s costs, the PMC will be using approximate estimate. The PEP’s cost is estimated by analogy to the Morgan Water Plant Rehabilitation program, in Cleveland, OH, which has a similar scope of work and capacity (Shook Construction 2013) (Kerzner 2013, pg. 680). The total cost for the Morgan Water Plant Rehabilitation program was $26 million; the Baldwin Water Works Plan Enhancement Program is 15 percent more difficult, taking under consideration the delicate work necessary for the renovation of the historical administration building. These result in an estimated cost of $30 million for the completion of our PEP (Kezner 2013, pg. 680) (www.shookconstruction.com). Finally, the PMC identifies two types of budgets: distributed budget is defined by the man-hours an required for the achievement of the tasks and subtasks established in the WBS, and the essential materials and equipment needed (i.e. 2,500 tons of 20” by 48” ductile iron piping, 48” electrically activated valves, PLC-Based control instruments, filter medias, slate shingles, crane, drillers, concrete, iron gunnels, masonry, exterior windows); management reserve of $3 million used in case of escalations in construction workers salaries, unforeseen delays resulting during
