First off, Welcome to Eighth Grade! It’s going to be a great year for you , team 8-1 is the best pod there is. All the classes are so much fun but the top three advice I give to you, is do your homework! I know everyone says this to you in middle school but especially in eighth grade because your grades for this year go onto your high school teacher and you wouldn’t want them thinking that you are too lazy to do a simple task like homework on a daily basis. Next always participate in class it’s so much fun to do so I know people have fears talking in front of other people but in reality you’re not going to see these people in five to ten years from now so who cares? The more you participate the more fun eighth grade is going to be. Last thing
For incoming freshman who are attending to Oakland Unity, there are some things you need to know. Incoming freshmen need to be prepared for school by bringing folders and especially pencils. It's important for freshmen to bring materials school because teachers will not provide them. Since eighth grade is the last year for middle school, you would usually hang out with friends you've known for a long time. Unfortunately, when transferring to high school, friends will (or eventually) depart from you. So I recommend for incoming freshmen to try to make some new friends. Middle school grades and work were easy to achieve and weren't important back then, but now you're transferring into high school. High school is very hard and
It’s a debatable article of “Welcome to 13th Grade!” by Rebecca Schuman, because she shows the advantages and the disadvantages of having the 13th grade. Schuman is bios and wants a 13th grade to happen, but there are many disadvantages of having an extra grade. Many people will be losing money if the adults will be paying for there education. Someone has to pay for their education and it is either the adults or the students, most students can’t pay. On the other hand, it provides many great opportunities because in Oregon the extra grade is counted as a year in college and can also help financially.
Eighth grade and ninth grade are nothing alike. They are not alike because in eighth grade the eighth graders are the oldest students there. It is also different because since they are the oldest they get the most respect. In ninth grade the ninth graders are the youngest and get the least respect. In ninth grade or freshman year the students are new to the school and you don't really know anyone but your friends. To get through your first year as a freshman you must make a lot of friends and have good relationships with all your friends. Something that can help make you many friends is joining clubs or teams.Another way to get through freshman year is by helping other students on homework and classwork. If you are done with classwork
The transition from eighth grade to ninth grade is astounding. For example, the classes are a lot more difficult than they were in eighth grade. By comparison, in eighth grade I would have at least two tests every Friday but now I have about five quizzes and two tests throughout the whole week. However, I do learn the material better when we have quizzes and tests even if it does stress me out. I also believe that being in ninth grade helps me understand time management more. Whereas in eighth grade I would just go home and watch television for a few hours, in ninth grade you have to come home, do your homework and study for a couple of hours. I have also learned that if you miss one day of school you'll miss everything. For instance, if you
If I knew then what I know now I would let up and coming 8th graders know about requirements, friendships, & the building. High School is said to be one of the best times of your life. But, it can also be a scary experience. It is up to you how your high school experience turns out to be. I have only been in high school for twos years. It has been stressful but yet its been extremely fun. Spartanburg High School has many exciting opportunities for you and I to try out.
Now spending at least a year and a half in high school, there are some things that the eighth graders should known when coming to Spartanburg High School. When coming to Spartanburg High School there a lot of more things to process and to know. Faculty expects the eighth graders to become more mature, and respectful because this high school so it is time to grow up. Everything is more stricter. Throughout the first year in high school there are some things that are going to be address. Therefore, some main things that the eighth graders should know about is academics, and behavior.
I am living the last year in Crone Middle School. There are numerous viewpoints that I can say about eighth grade. First and foremost, I want to highlight the amount of work. All the eight graders can agree that homework has substantially increased. When I was in elementary school, I was shocked when I heard that there is homework on the weekends. Now, it is shocking if I do not have weekend homework. By far, eighth grade has been the most busiest, exciting, and fun-filled year. Right from the beginning, the graduating class went to Lincoln Marsh. This is a natural area for team-building activities. I can specifically remember the number of bees in the area. I was not able to sit when eating lunch because of the bees. My favorite part of the field trip was obviously the bus ride to and from Lincoln Marsh. It was a relaxing ride where I got to listen to music. Another event was Civil War day. The entire eighth grade witnessed the life during the Civil War. There were singers, a surgeon, and nurses. The surgery was one of the most favored activities to witness. A surgeon performed a mock surgery with supplies that were available during the Civil War. A couple of weeks ago, the graduating class had the opportunity to go to Funway. There were go-karts, bumper cars, roller-skating, bowling, an arcade, and much more. It was truly an interesting
8th grade isn’t that bad. There might be some classes that you might think that you won’t like, but they will turn out to be not that bad. I feel like 8th grade is a lot easier than 7th grade was. There are fewer assignments, the classes seem easier, and 8th grade seems like there has been a lot more things that have been fun than 7th grade. The nice part is is that you get to eat lunch at the high school all year. What I recommend for sports is that all the sports are pretty fun. The one sport I would say you probably shouldn’t go out for or that you wouldn’t like is track. Good luck with 8th
8th grade will be the best year
I am sure it will not be hard to make new friends. The 8th graders are very intimidating but they are actually very friendly and they want to help you through the year. Do not be one of those people who start drama and try to stay out of is. This is a big part of jr. high and you need to avoid it. Just make friends and don’t make a fuss. Make wise choices and do everything thinking about God looking over your shoulder. Think before you do and not do before you think.
Hi, seventh grade. You have made it pretty far in school, as in moving up a grade. Now you probably seem really good in school to learning all the tricks to pass a grade. These ways are either legal or illegal in school, they might result in a Conduct Referral or even a suspension, but I hope that you guys never go through that. Now that I’m on my way to high school, and learned a lot in seventh grade, I will help you and hope you guys will take in consideration some advice that’s needed to pass 8th grade in a breeze.
8th grade has been a hell of a ride, I went through ups and downs, met new people, learned new things, and finally finished middle school. But along this hellish ride I encountered many challenges (and sorta solved them). I learned life lessons and had people help me along the way, I achieved goals that I set for myself. Most importantly, I learned many methods from AVID that I hope I will always use and take advantage of. Without AVID I would probably not care about my grades so much as much as I do now.
During my 8th grade year, I learned a lot that I did not know before. My 7th grade year I would consider it was my hardest year yet. The fun thing about this year is you learn so many new things. Most of our teachers chose to do so in a fun way. Also, each teacher will help you find ways to study. In my essay I will specify that you need to make sure that you are on time to your classes, always do your homework, and study for your tests.
Coming to eighth grade on the first day was slightly scary for me. I was afraid that I wouldn’t have any friends on the same team as me and that I wouldn’t have a class with any friends. When I arrived to the homeroom, school didn’t start off as bad as I thought it would. Apparently I had more than one friend in my homeroom, which made things less awkward for the first time being in class.
Everyone had warned me about how stressful it was, how much homework there was, but I hadn’t believed them until I got there. Eighth grade is hard. I had to face the truth. I was doing pretty swell, but then Winter Break came around, and my grades started to slip. My parents were grounding me, they were taking things away, but nothing seemed to be working. So they finally decided to tell me if I didn’t improve, they weren’t taking me on the ski trip with my whole family. That put my act together, and my grades started to improve, and new opportunities came up. I started joining clubs, and my life was pretty good once
