On Friday October 28, 2016 Wellness Coach Teresa Cain went to knock on Richard Bellamy apartment door but there was no answer from Mr. Bellamy. It has been over three weeks since staff has seen Mr. Bellamy. The next step was to do a missing person’s report. Wellness Coach called 911 at 2:45pm and informed the dispatcher that he was not seen by staff since October 4, 2016. Wellness Coach provided his name, age, and mental health diagnoses. The dispatcher informed me that the police officers will be at the apartment as soon as possible. Hours had passed and no authorities had shown up on the premises. Most patients who come into hospitals have either one or more illnesses that need caring and treating. These are the people who have complex health care needs. The Department of health (DH) (2015) defines complex health care needs as physical or mental health impairment that has a potential or affects an individual to conduct their daily activities. This assignment will critically analyse the care given to a patient with complex health care needs. The aspects to be focused on are pain and breathlessness due to swollen neck. The approach to the patient care will be analysed and the effectiveness of the care pathway to deliver care to the patient will be critically analysed. The roles of the Multidisciplinary team (MDT) involved in the care will
Connie Davis and Liz McNett Crowl have informally discussed over time how SRH could increase and encourage our employees’ adoption of healthy lifestyle activities, especially physical activity. The annual Mayor’s Wellness Challenge seemed like an opportunity where we could encourage SRH participation in the Mayor’s Challenge which would be a good way for us to organizationally demonstrate our support of the Mayor’s effort to increase physical activity for health among our employees

One in every four Canadians will be affected by lung disease over the age of 35 and the rate is predicted to increase (Gershon, 2013). These statistics demonstrate that every Ontarian, if not affected themselves, knows someone who is. North East Ontario (NEO) is a vast area and has a significant population with CRD (LELHIN,2014). Access to a northern PRP requires significant travel for patients (OLA, 2017;Crighton, Ragetlie, Luo, To, & Gershon, 2015). The geographical distance creates barriers to accessing PRPs.

Reviewing current medication use is imperative at each visit. D.E. could have added or discontinued medications with or without her health care providers’ instruction. Asking whether or not D.E. needed to refill current medications could promote medication adherence. D.E. took Simvastatin for hyperlipidemia and Ventolin for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). While reviewing the medications and diagnoses, checking labs were also imperative to ensure D.E.’s lipid level was under control. Food, drug, and environmental allergies were reviewed for accuracy.
In my department our organizational structure has evolved over the past years. My career has evolved from me and one other employee simply dividing up task to eight different people creating a team. My department is made up of nurses and health educators. Each person on staff has a variety of different task/projects and areas that we are considered to be experts in. As an employee of the Employee Wellness department, work specialization has been common for the last five years.
Having an already limited number of doctors, there is slim competition between these practices causing a decrease in motivation to persuade customers, increase facilities, or give patients superior care. In comparison of Canada and the United States, Bazuik claimed that what she likes about the United States health care is the competition between doctors. “They are consistently advertising and promoting that they have better business and better facilities. Everything is basically full in Canada, so they are not worried about winning over patients” (Bazuik). This competition in the United States forces doctors’ offices, hospitals, and other health care providers to give each and every patient the best care possible. This makes citizens feel
