From there as you get more comfortable with your routine you can slowly add and customize your workout plan to fit your needs. One fitness program that cost a minimal amount of money that changed my life is called Supreme 90 day. I began working out 30 minutes once a day, and now I have customized my plan using the DVDs and workout 2 hours a day. The exercises assist in strengthening the body for everyday living activities, stability, and core strength. I cannot say enough about these DVDs I lost the last 60 lbs doing this workout plan. The exercise plan also comes with a meal plan. After five years I still continue to use these DVDs as the foundation of my workout every single day. I just ordered a new set a month ago. As you have mentioned, Fair (2011) presented that physical wellness has numerous components like medical, pharmaceutical and drug, nutritional, aerobic capacity, muscular fitness, flexibility, and body composition wellness. What is my assessment for my physical wellness? The stage of my physical wellness has been in contemplation stage. Fair (2011) described that stage as the patient being aware that he/she is engaging in behavior that could lead to a health problem but still uncertain which approach to follow. “Despite the benefits of regular exercise and healthy eating, most people have difficulty beginning and maintaining positive behavioral changes” (Brinthaupt, Kang, &
Every year the step team does a performance during the Health Fair. This year we wanted to try something different, so we decided to teach steps to children from the area. Most of our steps are elite and very tedious to learn so we had to figure out what steps would be appropriate to teach without the children losing interest. Originally, we started with three kids who are siblings of one of my teammates. Later on in the day, after the drill team performed, some of drill team members came over to learn a couple of step moves, along with a couple of girls from the dancing school.

After taking the wellness inventory survey, my three weakest aspects of wellness seem to be emotional wellness, spiritual wellness, and communal wellness. However, I don’t feel as though I am lacking in these areas. Emotionally, I have outlets through my friends and dance to express what I’m feeling and deal with it. I am not that emotional of a person, and I do not feel as though I struggle much with this. Second, I am definitely not a spiritual person in any capacity, so that would attribute to my low spiritual wellness score. I do feel happy with where I am at in life, and I respect others’ beliefs and values. Lastly, I do help out in the community through tutoring and mentoring, so I do not feel like I lack communal wellness.
An element that I found in the poem “They” that resonated with me was that the war changed them completely. It brought changes physically and mentally. No one came back the same and many people changed for the worse. I can just image the effect of seeing death so close every day but it is different to actually live through it. The poem states “When the boys come back, They will not be the same; for they’ll have fought” (Greenblatt 2023) Those lines make me think of how much we overreact to the small things when in reality people are giving up their lives to fight for my good-being.
Once you've chosen a trend or video you are interested in, set a specific time each day to "meet" with your personal trainer. It's best to rotate at least two different forms of exercise (or videos) to avoid repetitive use strains. You can do different videos each day, or alternate a walk, bike ride or other activity you enjoy on your non-video days. As long as you are moving, you're keeping those spare pounds from firmly attaching to your body.
Recently, I was at a supermarket which was promoting ‘Purple Day’. Curious; I wandered round the store to know why the staff were all dressed in purple and why the occasion ‘Purple Day’. What I saw, were hues of purple colored foods and their preparations displayed all over the shelves. Big screens flashing catchy information about the power of purple foods astonished the customers. Those magnificent facts started me thinking and I found a provocative research topic. With meticulous research, I have gathered a humungous amount of information about the power packed purple-colored foods.
That feeling of walking back from an exam or staying up all night cramming information is well known to any student who has been through college. It leaves one feeling overwhelmed like the week will never end. The feelings are held inside while friends and roommates accuse moodiness which leads to the meltdown that is inevitable. These times are a result of a common state known as stress. Stress is a condition in which the body responds to any kind of demand or threat caused by life factors which include pressure, work, school, major changes, and lack of sleep. This factor is very common in colleges, especially freshmen and can also be seen here at Trine University. Stress can affect both physical and mental conditions in the body, such as sleep patterns, eating habits, anxiety,
I always tell myself I am going to start going to the gym but then I always make excuses for myself. I have had short periods of time where I have been very physically active and see results but I have never been able to stick to a routine. I know the benefits physical activity but need to find motivation and activities I enjoy to keep it up. I have always been very confident in my body and how I look but like any other person would love to improve my wellness. Even thought the media is full of models with “perfect” figures, I have been proud of my appearance. The people that surround you while you grow up have a huge impact on your physical identity. I was lucky enough to have parents that were supportive and encouraged me to stay healthy but never pressured me to change my appearance. My kids grow up with the pressure to lose weight and eat a certain way. I was able to grow up encouraged by others and accept for myself. As a college student, I enjoy eating a lot at a tailgate and enjoying being 21 but also stay active with hikes and walks around campus. I am appreciative that I am able to enjoy both sides of college life and not feel guilty. I hope I can continue to increase my physical activity and remain healthy because I recognize its positive impacts on my physical wellness and on my body
The Women’s Health Issues course this semester have been interesting and informative. I gained great perspective on health topics affecting women’s health status and ways biological and social factors put women at a higher stake for health issues. One of the most important thing I am taking away from this class is the importances of understanding women’s health, as a Public Health student women’s health has been a topic of interest for a long time. Coming from a developing country where many women grapple with health issues from discrimination and prescribed roles, it has been important for me to take this class and to have better understanding on health disparities that exist globally between women and men. In the following paragraphs I
Imagine yourself living in hierarchy where men are always above women, a time when women were equal to slaves. This is the setting of The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. This novel is categorized as a classic for a copious amount of reasons. If this tale of adultery and death wasn't a good enough reason, then Hawthorne's use of symbolism is. Seventeenth century Boston in a Puritan settlement is where this story takes place. Hester Prynne is found guilty of adultery, and her punishment is to wear a big fat scarlet “A’ on her dress. Hester is asked who the father of her child named Pearl is, but Hester refuses again and again to reveal the secret identity of her lover. She eventually settles to the edge of the town where she makes a
