Wells Lamont (using machine to punch out pieces for gloves), Anthony's Syrup (forming boxes and labeling and packing containers), Star Herald (collating inserts and applying labels to newspapers), Richardson Molding (assembling hinge pins and placing washers on screws). She also did janitorial work at two churches and an office building. The instructor noted the following limitations to employment: easily confused/frustrated, fluctuations in daily work levels, and lacks initiative. However, Instructor verbalized that Ms. Nelson is making good progress with the cleaning contracts. Additionally, she gets along very well with her peers.

Nelson had resolved these issues with the rehabilitation team assistance, Counselor asked Ms. Nelson how she was progressing with clinical as part of her CNA requirements for certification. Ms. Nelson stated she could not participate in clinical because she failed a background check. Ms. Nelson explained she was charged with a misdemeanor and was ordered to participate in anger management classes. She described the charges as arguing with her husband. Staff was empathy with Ms. Nelson. However, staff encouraged her to be more forthcoming and honest about her past when completing applications and certification programs. Counselor explained that in order to assist her more effectively, she must be honest. Staff also explained the importance of having a "clean" record when performing medical services. Ms. Nelson was given information to Mississippi Center for Justice, Southern Poverty Law, and Disability Rights Mississippi. Counselor explained how these agencies may be able to provide free assistance with getting her record expunged. She agreed to make contact for assistance. Nelson’s mental health and she agreed she was depressed. She identified having symptoms of crying episodes, feeling overwhelmed, worrying and stressed. She also agreed it has been easier for her to blame others than to cope with her issues. She also stated she was prescribed medication for depression by a local clinic. Counselor discussed with client the importance of obtaining mental health treatment to learn coping techniques to cope with her issues, and she agreed. Counselor also explained to her the disadvantage of blaming others for her issues. Ms. Nelson quickly apologized to the instructor, and agreed to schedule an appointment with the local community mental health agency, Community Counseling
