Before I longboarded, I thought that I would never learn hot to ride one or that I as going to get hurt. Well one of those things came true and I’ll tell you that it wasn’t the first one. It was a sunny Milwaukee afternoon and me and my friend Nick were very hungry. He wanted to go to Wendy's but no one there to drive us and it was at least a mile away. He suggested that he rides his longboard, and I ride my bike, but my bike was buried in the back of my garage. But then he said that I should ride my dad's longboard to Wendy’s. I was nervous but I said I would only ride it if my dad said yes thinking that he would say no. So I called him and asked him and he said yes so I grabbed the board and went outside. When I tried to ride it, I was slow …show more content…
It tolk us at least 30 minutes but when we finally made it, we were exhausted and hungry so we got our food and sat down. Halfway through eating his dad called him and asked him where we were. When he said we were at Wendy’s I heard him yell at him from across the table. After we were done eating, we left right away and started to head home. Two block down from the Wendy’s, we stopped because we felt like were about to throw up.We waited there for 20 minutes then started back home. We stopped at a church so I could take off my shirt because I was really hot outside. When we were 10 minutes away, there was a giant hill that was a block long. Nick and I started down the hill, I was thinking “I can do this, I can do this.” Oh boy was I wrong. When we went down the hill, we were in the street because the sidewalk was full of cracks. Halfway down, the board was wobbling and I fell off. I did a front flip and landed on my back, shoulder, and my elbow. I got up and ran after my board so it didn’t hit the curb or worse, a car. When I was running I didn’t feel any pain because I was in shock. After I got the board I went on the sidewalk and the pain hit me like a
I had so many different dreams about my future, it is amazing when you are a child, you have dream such as being a mother, a wife, becoming a pop star, creating an amusement park and writing story books. It was only later, that realize that was a fantasy. Life has taught me is valued and to understand my worth, qualities, and skills, which allowed me to be the person, I am today. Working at Taco Bell has taught me about being responsible and accountable for my action as well considered by others. There are many roles that make this job run smoothly: that being on time for work matter, and making sure I know my schedule, is what taco bell expected from me. I learned that the key to making customers keep coming back over and over is a warm smile,
I am feeling repentant about dining at Chili’s, last week, due to the terrible experience that I had. The semblance of the restaurant from the outside, made it seem like a nice place to dine in, but when I stepped into the place, it had a very unkempt appearance. Not only was the interior appearance untidy but the smell of the place made me feel nauseated. It smelled as if there has been a dead rat in the place for a week. When I took a seat, I hoped that an amiable waiter who reveres their customers would take my order. Instead, a waiter with an impassive look on his face walked up to the table I was sitting at. His way of speaking English was enigmatical. I couldn’t understand a word he was saying. When I finally figured that he was trying
A time when I tried something new was when I tried a burrito at a Mexican restaurant. Before I ate a burrito I never did like Mexican food, because I didn’t like trying new things. Ever since I ate that burrito, I had loved burritos because I tried something new.
At the beginning of this school year, I began to realize something. I realized that my high school years were coming to an end. This was an eye opener for me. I didn't know what to expect of my last year nor what I wanted to do after high school. I then began looking for a job. So I applied to Chick-fil-a. I waited patiently several weeks for a call, but received no call whatsoever. I patiently waited for a new opportunity to come along. Until finally, I was given an opportunity at an electrical shop. On the first day of work I was introduced to the staff and learned the procedures of what needed to be done. My job now was to maintain the shop clean and to keep all materials organized as well as other tasks that helped me grow with my skills.
Have you ever been to Dave and Busters It is so cool. It is so fun because my brother, sister, and cousin work there and there is ice cream and hamburgers.
(IDK what to do for the first sentence) I, among many others, can tell stories about the people we have come across at “The Bee’s.” I have met some delightful people, and some questionable people in my short time of working there.
One summer day in July , Me and my friend Carol went to an amusement park called Cedar Point . Cedar Point is located in Sandusky , Ohio and two and a half hours away . My mom and me wanted to go on a ride called the Maverick . The Maverick is Cedar Point’s steepest roller coaster and its speed is 70 miles per hour . The Maverick also has a 95 degree drop ! Then we went in line and waited for about an hour and a half . It was about eleven o'clock when we got close to the front of the line . When we finally got to the roller coaster I regretted going on because it was very dark and I couldn't see where the drop was and I don’t like steep roller coasters . Because of that me and Carol where panicking the whole way up . As soon as we got to the
Have you ever tried something new? Well I did one day at Kroger a few years ago. It felt funny, because no one else in my family but my dad would eat the food, and it was also a really weird food.
“A good job is more than just a paycheck.” –James H. Douglas Jr. First jobs often provide a variety of experiences for teenagers. In many cultures, getting a job signifies the initial step towards independence from one’s parents. Not only do they represent new found liberty, but they also teach skills needed in the real world. Working at the local Giant grocery store has marked my transition to adulthood by teaching me about interpersonal relations, finance, and time management.
“YAY! I finally graduated! Villanova University Class of 2015!” “Now it’s time to enjoy a meal with the family.” These were words that I said the day of my graduation in May of this past year. I am sitting here now reminiscing on this very important day in my life. All this nostalgia is getting me hungry, so I decided to take a trip to the Cheesecake Factory to re-live the experience. From the outside, the Cheesecake Factory looked like a big castle; the inside was huge. The lighting was really pretty, especially at night. They have a nice cheesecake display that could be admired as soon as one enters the restaurant. I could smell the rich, decadent cheesecakes. The seating is either tables or booths. The restaurant was very inviting. The
It was an average weeknight, my brothers and I goofing around, my mom sewing, and my dad was out getting groceries. All of a sudden my dog Rascal started spazzing on the ground and breathing really heavy. It was very confusing at first because he was fine and then he wasn’t. We put a blanket under him and relaxed with him. When my dad came home he said stuff in my private with my mom and they came back in and said it was time for bed. So we all went to bed hoping he was going to be okay.
I jump back to throw my back handspring. Just as soon as my hands touch the mat, I hear my right wrist make a loud pop. i sit down and start crying. Approximately five minutes later, after i had taken some tylenol, I got up and started doing more back handsprings. I didn’t want anyone to know that I was hurt, so i had to fight through the pain and keep going. As practice goes on it starts hurting worse. When i got home I told my dad that I hurt my arm at cheer practice. Well as any dad would say, my dad said, “Is your bone sticking out of your body? Are you bleeding? I didn't think so. Therefore, you’re alright.” I go to my room and laid down in the bed and started crying from the pain, or maybe it was the words that my dad had said to me, or possibly even both. Eventually, I stopped crying and went to
It is not to milk the cows or feed the chickens, it’s to make a fresh batch of ice cream. His morning at Kline’s Dairy Bar lasts until 10:30 AM, when the serving begins.
Last week I was feeling a little down, because I have yet to really get settled in here at State. On Friday though I was feeling particularly happy because my boyfriend, Reed, was coming to visit me. Considering the fact that my family and Reed are my whole world, it has been extraordinarily hard for me to adjust here. While he was here in Starkville, he and I went to eat breakfast together at Denny’s, shop for groceries, and spent some time alone. Denny’s was overflowing with people, but the staff members were still friendly and efficient. Even though we ended up spending approximately two hours in Denny’s because of the crowd, it did not really matter because we were together. After getting groceries and hanging out around campus, we went
It all started on a sunny afternoon this past September when I was riding my uncles quad in the trails behind my house. I was just cruising around in the trails when I decided to go up a very steep hill. I shouldn't have even attempted making it up this hill, but I went for it. I had almost made it to the top when the quad stalled out 5 feet from the top. The quad started to roll backwards, so I grabbed the brake and cut the wheel which turned out to be my worst move. I should have grabbed the front brake and rolled down the hill slowly and kept the wheels straight. Instead the quad was sideways on the hill, so I jumped off and the quad came with me. After the quad rolled over me and landed upside down at the bottom of the hill I flipped the
