Me: Would you consider “WesBurlesque” a liberating experience?
Tyler: Yes
Me: How do you think clothing and nudity play a role in the liberating experience?
Tyler: Because being a dancer these past few years, I did not get much say in my outfits. Like you can definitely be like I don’t feel comfortable in this and the choreographers are completely receptive to that and will change it but coming into this and thinking you do not have any say and being forced in a way to wear it and then when you wear it you realize you’re fine and people love you in this outfit. Like it’s uncomfortable going into it but once you do it, you’re fine, you’re good and that’s the part I find liberating. You weren’t necessary comfortable the whole time, but by the end you feel good about it.
Me: Does your dance have a specific theme?
Tyler: Um hmm, well there is the guys piece that Max is choreographing that is kind of funny and silly. There are actually not that many guys in Wesburlesque which is interesting. This year we have musical theater. I don’t know, my dance doesn’t really have a theme.
Me: Are there all different body types represented on
Therefore, it is important that you: 1) construct your interview questions carefully, 2) ask your interviewees to expand on their answers (perhaps come up with some follow-up questions), and 3) use paraphrasing and active, mindful listening to make sure you understand the perspective of your interviewee. Keep in mind that the quality of your paper directly depends on the quality of your interviews. Plan and prepare for your interviews carefully. You should seriously consider doing one or more follow-up interviews to clear up any points about which you are unclear after having thought about them post-interview.
The “striptease” is still very much relevant and alive today as it was when it was first introduced to the world nearly 80 years ago. This timeless and provocative dance was the product of Gypsy Rose Lee, but by no means should one refer to her as a “stripper”. Doing so would be a great injustice to this iconic figure; it would be sacrilegious. Gypsy, born Rose Louise Hovick, brought more than sensual allure to the stage; Gypsy was intelligent, funny, and witty. An example of her immense wit and improve skills can be seen in how the striptease came into being. When the strap to Gypsy’s costume came undone during a performance, rather than run off stage in embarrassment, Gypsy noticed the positive audience reaction, causing her to implement the act into the focus of her performance.
I wake up and start getting ready for practice. Get in the shower and get dressed. I grabbed my bag and made my way to the bus stop. Basketball is my favorite sport. I consider myself being like my idol Derrick Rose. He is very good on the court. As I make it in the school, I realize I do not have to take that much time with getting ready for practice than I do on a regular school day. I realize my boys was running late as usual. Playing basketball with them is the best. Especially playing with Demacio.
This was particularly exciting because the music was written and sung by Beyonce, a majority favorite. However, the costumes lacked coordination and seemed put together very last minute. Although, the purple and red vests did match the lighting which added a unique touch. The dance moves were fun and upbeat which allowed for the audience to enjoy themselves and experience the joy the dancers expressed. The dance truly attempted and succeeded at displaying the true spirit of Beyonce. Also, the dance moves seemed to have been carefully planned out to their fullest potential. The originality of the dance was exceptional which was one of the many components that cultivated its excellent
I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a double major in Political Science and Public Policy. After starting out college unsure of what I wanted to major in, I finally found my passions in education and international affairs through my majors.
Although I come from a different country, my day is not much different than the average American. I eat, sleep, work, cook, clean and also breathe the same air all of you breathe every day. When I wake up, I make breakfast and head to school to see all my striving pupils and prepare them for their lessons of the day. After work, I sometimes like to practice yoga, cook something new (no not sushi), or even go out with a few friends of mine (Question 2). Working as a professor at Texas State has been an amazing experience. I work in the Mathematics Department as an Algebra teacher. My favorite thing about teaching algebra is getting to see the look on the students’ faces when they finally
7. How many hours do you spend doing homework and/or studying each day? Every year of high school I spend different hours for studying. I usually go to the library to finish my homework during lunch. I get home around 5:30 because I have a job after school. I begin my homework as soon as I get home and study as long as it takes me to understand the material. I plan on 1-2 hours per class, most assignments can be done less than 75 minutes.
My own thoughts: This was my first interview I conducted regarding WesBurlesque, so it was very informational. I then interviewed two other individuals who are participants and over all, I am getting a general sense that WesBurlesque makes people feel good and it it’s a lot of fun. However, I am also gathering that while it is slowly becoming more diverse, there are still a lot of gender roles and typical pretty people in it. Also, the whole idea of exclusion in a liberating setting is very paradoxical. I have also noticed that people who find WesBurlesque builds confidence tend to be people with curvier body types, and the people who find WesBurlesque to be just fun and silly, have the “ideal” body type for our age. Also, peoples’ ideas of
I think that costume was interesting and strongly related to the music and the type of dance that he is doing, but I think if the tie was on him, would make the dance more interesting. On the other dance, the two dancers were wearing also formal clothes and the costume showed how they were lovers. I think the suit that they were wearing helped the story and the feeling to be reached to the audience. Lastly, Breakfast Burrito, the costume for this dance was different for every dancer, where every dancer had his different color costume and there was nobody wearing a suit. A dynamic dance like this one needs to have a mix of bright colors to make it more interesting. In my point of view, the costumes for this dance was amazing.
Throughout this semester this class has allowed me the privilege to get to know people who I would have never talked to on a personal level while also having the chance to advance my interviewing skills while getting to know them. Not only did these interviews and experiences display my strengths such as being able to adapt to certain situations but even more importantly it helped show me my weaknesses. After one interview and the next, I had to learn what role I had to play as within each interview I had to adapt to find my specific role as it varied from one to the next. Having the opportunity to interview a handful of people from the beginning of this semester to now has also taught me that the person you are interviewing can have a tremendous effect on if the interview goes successfully or not for reasons that I will elaborate on further in my paper. Lastly, one of the greatest lessons I learned about while interviewing people would be how to properly prepare to make sure the interview itself go as smoothly as possible. All of these factors have helped me grow in becoming a better interviewer and have helped me grow as a person.
After my first day of school, a day that was so enjoyable, I could not wait for the next one;
Today’s audience is very diverse. A typical day can include preparing your family for school and work, working a full time job, preparing your family for bedtime and maybe, if you’re lucky, watching so television. This all sounds so simple but when you consider what preparing your family for school
I am Leonardo Faife and I go to North Broward Preparatory School. I am a boy as you can see by how I am typing and I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself so you can get to know me. So first of all I am not a gamer, but I do play mine craft and steam though. I also love to go to school so I can meet up with all of my friends. During school, I love to get to know my teachers and also have a little fun while I am there. After school I play with my friends until my mom says I got to go. When I get home I always do my Homework so later I'm not tired to do it so I do it first rather then last. When its time for bed I always brush my teeth, get my Pajamas on, say goodnight to my family and my dog Monty, and last but not least I go to bed.
Clothing and costumes have a large impact in films and sexuality. Many people may disagree with that statement. Stella Bruzzi, Sarah Street, Jo B. Paoletti, Zack Mandell, and Deborah Landis; all authors of books or articles of evidence that supports the idea of clothing and costumes impacting film and sexuality disagree. Their books all develop new thoughts on costumes and clothing and cause the readers to reevaluate the impact clothes has in films and sexuality. Majorly, they all agree that costumes aid in the evolution of the plot and reveal a deeper side of the character; however, there is slight disagreement on the aid of clothing in sexuality.
I structured this paper by giving you the insight about all the question I asked and the responses I received, ending it off with the list of facts I learned and knowledge I gained throughout the interview.
