America’s Gift To My Generation
America has offered us many things to be proud of. But often times, we fail, and only look at the simplest things. We think of our freedoms; speech, religion, press. But while those are our valuable gifts, we forget to look inside of those gifts, to find something more meaningful. This essay is about my generation’s gift, but also everybody else’s gift, unique in it’s own time. It is believable, that over the past 241 years, that the greatest gift, that shows up stronger in every generation, is the spirit of us, a spirit ‘We the people’. And if people think that that has changed, through the division of Democrats and Republicans, white and black, then we are inaccurate… because we forget what united us in events like the World Wars. We forgot that every man, every woman, and even children were fighting to bring about success, and sacrificed, everything, together. Do we even care to remember the Revolutionary War, which is the reason why I am writing this, for you to read? We omit the gory details from history, that actual ones that brought us home, home to a new nation. America sometimes fails to realize that in order to be united, it is acceptable to mess up, as long as we are determined to learn from it. The Civil War might’ve been a mistake, something that never should have happened, because we should have been treating everyone the equally in the first place. America’s mistake, the people’s mistake, I admit it. But a learning process, all the same. So here we are. America’s gift to my generation is not just a physical gift, but a mental gift. The physical gift is the safer place to live and grow. This mental gift that America gave to my generation is a deep feeling that you can go around and be who you are, dress in what you want, say what you want, and basically do what you want without being restricted to doing one thing each and every day. My great grandfather served in World War Two… fighting for Italy. He later immigrated to America coming from Italy so he could follow his heart and marry my great grandmother, as he did not have the rights to do so in Italy. It was very hard for them to leave all of their friends and family but with each other to lean on they came to America where we stand as one with our rights and got married.
When you join the army you make the biggest, most courageous sacrifice ever. Most people don’t know what it’s like to be in the army, and will probably never find out. Here in America, we are free to pursue our own happiness. We also have one of the strongest and largest economies in world history. We have liberty or freedom unheard of in the world. We have a justice system that works proficiently, though not flawless, and we even have a justice system that is very high ranking. We also the benefaction of education, most of it at public charge. Americans also have the right to aspire to any dream we may have. One of the most important gifts to our generation is the chance to provide to this society and make it more suitable for yourself, your family, and your fellow citizens. America’s greatest Gifts to me are my freedom in general, freedom of Religion, and high advances in technology.
America, it mostly is an amazing continent, or so they for the most part thought. We really take it for granted, not taking care of it, so America, it specifically is an amazing continent in a kind of big way. America however, doesn’t care because it definitely is not a living creature, which mostly is quite significant. This quote from Ronald Reagan “Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction. We did not pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for protected and handed on for them to do the same.” Shows that america gave us freedom and now we just have to fight to maintain that freedom. We have recently been learning in history about how things used to be before we had all the freedom we do now and it just makes me realize how lucky we are today to have the freedom we have today and how appreciative of the people who fight for my country.
America has gifted my generation with a lot of good things. However, with every good thing, bad things always follow. America has gifted me with freedom, medicine that I have access to when I’m ill, equal rights, and a roof over my head. On the flip side, America has gifted me with the fear of terrorist attacks, racist people, and not being able to speak my opinion without being judged.
The Second Amendment says that all citizens should have the right to bear arms, and some people are trying to take away what the military fought for. America’s gift to my generation is the right to bear arms or the Second Amendment. Because of this law, we have the right to defend ourselves hunt, and have fun. The military fought for these rights so we should keep them.

America's greatest gifts given to my generation are technology, healthcare, and continued freedom. Technology gives us further research opportunities, elaborate communication, and new, efficient instruments. Secondly, health care has provided useful vaccines, technology to cure us, and valuable experiments. Finally, our continued freedom has given us the ability to live freely, has abandoned slavery, and has put a stand in our history.
In my generation teen’s and kids are accepting of people’s sexuality and ethnicity. The gift of acceptance is still slowly opening. Being accepted can lower the percentages of depression and suicides. America’s gift opened up a new world to opportunities for all people. Acceptance is great and i think most people would agree. America’s gift to my generation is acceptance.
