My academic and career goals are to attend the University of Mount Olive in the fall of 2017. I hope to graduate with an undergraduate degree in Agribusiness and Communications. Upon completing my undergraduate studies and internship experiences, I plan to work my way up in the public relation corporate ladder for a major Agribusiness. I have a passion for public speaking and writing, to communicate information effectively, whether it is facts or inspiration. Agricultural communications is just as important as working in a biotechnology lab.
A career in agricultural communications would allow me to share the importance of agriculture wherever my career may take. My hometown is one the reasons I choose this major and career. As a child, I didn’t
On March 3, 1991 an African American man named Rodney King became a posterboy for racial tension and police brutality in America. On this day, police officers Stacey C. Koon, Laurence M. Powell, Timothy E. Wind, and Theodore J. Briseno attempted to pull Rodney King over because they suspected he was driving under the influence. Mr. King then lead the officers on a 110 mph chase through San Fernando Valley, California, and finally stopped his car in a residential area. Police officers began beating Mr. King after he got out of his car. Officers tasered, kicked, stomped on, and hit Mr. King with their batons for about 10 minutes.

An experience in a biomedical research will help me to succeed in my long-term educational goals. My long-term goal is to attend a MD-PHD program at a Medical School. As a scientist, I would like to study the genetics of disease causing organisms and human genetics. Currently, I am studying Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, which I think will equip me with a knowledge of human biochemistry. However, since undergraduate schools mainly focus on theoretical not the practical application of most subjects, I need to participate in a hands on research project over the summer because It will give me an opportunity to apply my knowledge in a laboratory. This is when the summer research program at the University of Maryland school of medicine
As a prospective Biology major and Veterinarian, I hope to gain experience working with plants and animals in the field of Biology and consider internships with veterinarians. I plan to put my experience and qualifications to use by applying for an accredited veterinary college. Upon acceptance, I will strive towards earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM). If I do not gain acceptance into a veterinary medicine program, then I will steer myself more towards the forensic science fields. A degree and certification in veterinary medicine is appealing and preferable to me. However, to keep my options open, the field of forensic science and crime scene investigations will serve as
From this experience, it only seemed natural for me to come to UW-Madison and study Life Sciences Communications where I hope to one-day work for a non-profit agriculture group promoting agriculture throughout the community
My career goals after I finish college involves something with the arts. I am leaning towards a career with the fine arts or a career in art history. I am going down a path of fine arts because art has always been my passion. In order to achieve this goal I plan on transferring to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to further my education. If I go down the path of fine arts or art history I plan on moving to the artistic hub of Asheville North Carolina.
My academic goal is to graduate Argosy University with a bachelors degree in Forensic Psychology in three years time. Forensic Psychology is the study of the criminal mind, in a nutshell. The main motivation to achieve this goal would be intrinsic. I love asking questions and knowing the answers as to why people do what they do, and in a criminals case, what led them to committing the crime. This goal, however, may have some extrinsic motivation as well. Being knowledgeable about certain behaviors that criminals poses may help solve or even prevent a crime. In addition, having a degree will help open different paths in life, ones that may present me with greater job opportunities. My attitude toward the learning process will help my achievement of each goal because I am eager, determined and motivated. My greatest desire is to succeed in life, and obtaining an education is one thing I know will help me. I perhaps will need to make some adjustments along my journey. I do not know yet if I will find another educational path that intrigues me the most. For now, I do not feel that any adjustments need to be made.
Many people have goals to accomplish. Some can be realistic and some can be out of the ordinary. My academic and career goals are to graduate college, go to Medical School, and become an OB/GYN (Obstetrics/ Gynecologist). I also plan to travel around the world after I am done with everything else that I know I will accomplish. I want to help out people with the practice I want to take as I finish college. It is a long journey, and this scholarship can help me to keep attending college.
One of my academic goals is to get the best education possible at Allan Hancock College before I transfer. I will accomplish this by always paying attention to all my teachers and do all my work and most importantly make school my number one priority. Another academic goal that I have is to transfer to Cal Poly or Long Beach and obtain my Master’s degree in education. I also want to graduate with honor and with a 3.5 GPA or above. I decided that I wanted to be a teacher because I like helping people out and also I enjoy working with kids. I selected these goals because my economic background is not the great, most of the money that my family makes goes to the rent and daily expenses. We live in a small apartment and we are a family of five; we don’t usually go out and eat at restaurants only in special occasions.
Going to college has been a dream of mine growing up. I am the first ever in my family to go to college but figuring out how to pay for it has been a challenge. I desire to achieve my academic and career goals and this scholarship can help me succeed in my journey.
One of the most important decisions I made was to enroll in college to further education. At this point in my life, I need the flexibility to complete my degree while managing my home life and work life. Obtaining my college degree will provide me with opportunities and make me more competitive once I leave military service. This paper will illustrate how I will accomplish my goal of attaining my college degree. I will highlight my career goals, time management techniques and study methods for academic success.
Unlike Britain but like most nation states, the American political system is clearly defined by basic documents. The Declaration of Independence of 1776 and the Constitution of 1789 form the foundations of the United States federal government. The Declaration of Independence establishes the United States as an independent political entity, while the Constitution creates the basic structure of the federal government. Both documents are on display in the
I am at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. I am doing a master’s in public health right now. I study epidemiology and right now I’m trying to get into the epidemiology of stress and how social economic differences can contribute to chronic stress and how that contributes to our health. Long term I have been trying to get back into Coffee. I have worked in coffee for a long time and I would love to work at a farm level with public health in some way so that is the long term goal. I was a Vista last summer for the Summer Feeding Program. It was a blast. I got to work with a bunch of other Vistas, a few of them are still there. They stayed on for the year term. We would monitor a lot of summer feeding sites where they were feeding
Education has always been something of great importance now in today's society and for those who are just beginning their journey through high school, it is a great idea to give them advice from seniors. This way they know that high school is not something to be afraid of that instead to be proud of. My education from kindergarten to 12 grade has been filled with emotions as well as new experiences that prepare me for life. Some of which taught me to not be afraid to stand in front of a crowd and to speak my mind. Also speaking of education one of my biggest career goals is to become a pediatrician mostly because kids bring joy to the world they so innocent and to see them become sick is just terrible. I want to become a pediatrician because i like to take care of people and to see them get better is just joy into my world.
Growing up, there were several different career paths I wanted to take but was not reachable at the time. Throughout my high school my career goal was to be a civil or mechanical engineer. At the time, it wasn’t clear to me what an engineer’s job function is. My family urged me to pursue that dream just because of the perks that comes with it such as money. Math was never my strong suit, neither was school and to become an engineer, several mathematics courses are required. My first two years as a transfer student in college, I had no idea what my career path should be if engineering doesn’t work out. After taking careful consideration, working in the tech industry was something that needed to be done. A few friends of mine gently pushed me in that direction, but my vision to pursue a career in tech was a bit fuzzy. Eventually I started leaning towards business, but by then it was already too late for me to switch majors. I chose Sociology as my major because I found the courses interesting to learn, and it is something I can apply to business. Earlier this semester, I decided to push towards specific fields such as sales or human resources. Eventually, I do see myself in a leadership position at work such as a management position in my workplace. I do believe I have what it takes to become a manager, but only after being with a company for some time so I can understand the concepts and how to adapt to the given environment.
