Many argue that gun free zones are the main reason mass shooting happen in schools, malls, and theaters. Therefore, in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut in December 2012, the policymakers in Massachusetts took safety seriously as they understood that people should not fear going to movies, schools, churches, malls, etc. Therefore, they found it necessary to reinforce the gun control in this state for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
