"The Bully" by Paul Langan is a great book there is a lot of elements in the book that happened which made this book a lot better. The general idea and moral expressed in this book is its a kid named Darrel Mercer who is from Philadelphia who moves to California. and attends Bluford high school and is now getting bullied by the school bully and he doesn't know what to do. In the book there is lots of mood swings, character development, and symbolism.
First element shown in the book is mood swing. Darrel is a skinny small kid that attended school in philly but that changed when his mom found a better job in California. Darrel was the type of kid that thought about every solution like he didn't want to move because he knew that he wouldn't have any friends. The first day of school there was a kid named tyray and he started bullying Darrel and because he knew Darrel was a punk and he was skinny and frail he got 10$ out of him every Friday.

Although many don't recognise the hidden theme of bullying, a minority of people will realise and reflect upon it. The book needs its humour to relate to the given audience, the hidden theme of bullying is an addition that helps the readers understand the significant issue of

All American Boys is easily the best summer reading book I have read within my school career. All American Boys is about a young african american boy named Rashad that is a victim of police brutality. The book goes into the depths of how the incident affects the community and how people responded to the unfair treatment of Rashad. There are two perspectives within the book, both of which are in the eyes of students. The first perspective is of Rashad himself and how he reacts to all of the uproar when he realizes how big of a deal it was. The second perspective is from a boy named Quinn. Now the this about Quinn that his best friends brother is the police officer the brutally pummeled Rashad for no reason. Quinn is torn between standing up

Deej Logan was just like any normal high school girl. She woke up on her first day of school and combed her hair, picked out the “perfect” outfit and headed out the door. What she didn’t know is that after that day nothing would be the same. Nothing that day seemed to be going right. At school drama was swarming all around her, not exactly what she hoped the first day would be like. By the time the last bell of the day rang she was more than happy to get out of that school. She drove home as quickly as she could but as soon as she got home she realized that she had forgotten to pick up her sisters. “Great.” She thought sarcastically as she sat back down in her car and drove off. Just then she pulled out her phone to message one of her friends about her awful day. That one decision changed everything. Before she had a chance to send the message Deej veered off into oncoming traffic and was killed on impact.
