Ethical Issues Regarding Security Drone
Science is a double edged weapon, it might be used for the prosperity of human beings and also it can be used as a weapon to kill human beings. Therefore, we cannot consider technology to be ethical or unethical, but we can consider our usages to be ethical or unethical. Alfred Nobel has established Nobel Prize to encourage scientists when he found that his invention “Dynamite” was used in wars to kill human beings. Science and technology are harmless; however we might misuse them and make them a tool for harming each other.
Drones are regarded as one of the edgy technology applications that are in a vigorous development cycle all over the world. Drone is a term used to describe unmanned airborne vehicle (UAVs) without a pilot. Drones can be controlled wirelessly using remote control and communication protocols as Wi-Fi or high frequency waves. Drones can navigate with a degree of autonomy using onboard Microcomputers. They have different types, sizes and degrees of autonomy. Each type of drones has its own ethical issues for usage. Drones have invaded many professions due to its high speed, accuracy, low cost, do not have to be rested and the most important thing is that it can handle dangerous missions without risking humans lives.

Therefore; drones are to be developed for putting out vigorous fires autonomously. They might save a lot of lives of people in accidents’ sites as well as lives of brave firemen. This is noble aim and shall be very effective in combating fires; however it shall have some ethical and controversy issues.
There are three main factors to be judged in order to determine whether having fire-combating drones is ethical or unethical [1]:
- The action of the drone and how it performs its function.
- The intention of the controlling human
Flying man controlled personal drones are a booming new resource in our societies today. There everywhere used for a numerous of different usages such as personal fun and a enormous new amount of commercial jobs. Drones in the workplace are becoming a hot commodity which are being used for tons of jobs some example jobs are farming, construction, and other commercial jobs. Drones are made to makes people's jobs easier, safer, and faster. Multiple great benefits of switching lots of jobs over to drones. Drones are new, cheap, and very valuable.
Because of the Vietnam War, drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are still used in the modern society. Drones have become more advanced and methodological to provide updated images of particular locations or fly greater distances than an airplane. As P.W. Singer confirmed drones are the most revolutionary change in weapons technology in the history of man and are considered to be equivalent to the invention of the computer according to Bill Gates. Both of these given statements are ascertained through their use not only in war, but also surveillance, agriculture, and the building of the database by scientists for climate change.
Drones, also known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, are small aircraft that lack a pilot in the actual vehicle, but are remotely controlled from a considerable distance away. The drone may be equipped with a number of different weapons.
According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, drones are commonly defined as an unmanned aircraft or ship guided by remote control or onboard computers. Drones have various uses that go from delivering pizza and packages, spying, farming, fighting in the war on terrorism, studying hurricanes, helping police fight crime and so much more. It is important to note that not all drones were first implemented with bombs and devices of mass destruction and still today, many drones do not bomb. According to an article published by TopYaps, “This technology hasn’t been confined to
Bill Gates once said, “Drones overall will be more impactful than I think people recognize, in positive ways to help society.” In this quotation, it can easily be seen that Bill Gates can foresee a better future for society as technology advances. The era of technological advances has impacted many industries to expand into the new market. Drones have become one of the most important technological advancements to change the world completely. A drone is a remote-less controlled unpiloted aircraft or missile. The impact goes beyond the traditional battlefield and changes the very concept of war itself. However, this advancement in technology has sprung a huge debate, ‘The Great Drone Debate.’ As technology improves, society
Drones are remotely controlled aerial vehicles that have been used since the Afghanistan war. The UK have began using UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) also known as drones, in October 2007 during the Afghanistan war. Even though drones have many different size and shapes they fall into two categories. They are either used for surveillance or armed missions (What are Drones?). The drone program strikes begun during the George W. Bush administration, and have increased significantly under President Barack Obama’s administration. Drones are wildly debated due to the fact that they are like phantoms and the US government does not come clean when questioned about them. The program’s secrecy leaves many American civilians feeling scared due to the fact that the government could be using drones to watch over us in secrecy.
Drones have been a debatable topic since the 1930s. Some countries have banned them, some states have banned them, and even the United States National Park Service has banned them. There has been controversy for the last few years of this new rising robot on whether the U.S. National Park Service should allow it or whether it should be illegal in our parks. They were invented during World War II to help the military spy on enemies. Their technical term is a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) or RPA (Remotely Piloted Aerial System). Drones have been used in situations where manned flight isn’t an option. These flying robots have come in many sizes, from miniature hand-sized drones to large spy planes.
For many people, just the word drone sends a chill down their spine. The infamous reputation of these unmanned flying objects comes from their heavy use in war zones where they are meant to track and kill. The purpose of these drones is to complete a mission without risking the lives of soldiers. Contrary to popular belief, most drones are used for purposes other than warfare. The public rarely hears about the positive side of drones and thus their opinion on drones is simply biased because they do not realize that there is another, much larger side to drones that is peaceful. Most drones are used for surveillance along borders or simply for fun. The use of drones for recreation seems to slowly be catching on and will offer amazing possibilities. Even though many people do not recognize the positive side of drones, they have the power to revolutionize the way we see and understand the world, protect the lives of the soldiers and allow for amazing private experiences through their wide range of uses.

The world isn’t perfect, nor will it ever be. Some acts require military intervention, which involves many sacrifices for the greater good. Drones are a controversial method of combating terrorism. Some argue that these targeted strikes are unethical, ineffective, and only increase terrorist violence, while others believe it is indeed an ethical and effective method of combatting terrorism. With the information gathered, it is easy to come to the conclusion that drones are a necessary asset to the United States to fight terrorism.
Drones are a controversial issue, especially through the lens of the Fourth Amendment, the “right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures” (Will). Privacy is something everyone cares about and they have a right to, but drones should not be banned, because of the fear that someone might use them inappropriately. But like everything else drones should have some regulations, to prevent people from misusing them. Do the pros of drones outweigh the cons? Drones should be legal for both military and consumers to use.
Thesis: Drones have become very well known to its many uses for the general public, military, and the police force. I strongly believe that we should be allowed to run drones in local airspace with many safely practices as well with little government interference. Intro: Drones range from small to a life size planes and there are a plethora of ways to use them. The question the FAA has been dealing with since the evolution of drones are three main questions; are they safe, will they interfere with manned aircraft, and what will people do with the onboard cameras. Drones started with the military and are now are in the hands of individuals and small business.
Due to this accident and many other UAV incidents CASA has responded to this issue by enforcing and creating new rules when operating a drone. This year 2016 CASA has introduced strict rules for drone operators such as, drones being kept more than 30 metres away from other people and must not be flown over crowds at beaches or sporting events. (Digital life, 2016). Drones also need to be operated in daylight where the operator can see them and should be kept for at least more than five kilometres from airports while staying below 121-metre-height limit. CASA also made deals with major drone companies to include the regulations inside each box and also covering the importance of appropriate operational controls and procedures covering drones. (RPAS, 2016) These strict rules are not only because of the increasing numbers of incidents but because of the increasing number of drone’s in the air. Anybody can purchase a drone from fifty dollars to thousands of dollars making it such an affordable and accessible toy. Because they are airborne objects drones represent threats to people and property. Especially when faults occur in equipment or in the
Drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), are pilotless and non-crewed aircraft that are capable of flight either by remote control or through the use of on-board computers. Other names for these types of aircraft are remotely piloted vehicle (RPV), remotely piloted aircraft (RPA), and remotely operated aircraft (ROA).
As the technological advancements are taking place day by day concerns are growing among the various religious and ethical groups about the ethics involved in the kind of technology. As we know that there are pros and cons of using any technology but sometimes many protest that the technologies are more of used for the selfish purposes to fulfill human needs than to be beneficial for the mankind.
