What Are The Factors That Affect African American Behavior

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. quoted, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” African Americans behavior is affecting the race as a whole. The black lives matter movement was designed to inform others we know our right. As African American female I agree with the protest but think there’s somethings as African Americans we should consider. African Americans should consider our constitutional rights, crime of our race, and the effect it has in the black community. Lately there’s been plenty of police killings in the black community. When police kill an African American their looking at it as justifiable, because of the behavior of some African American people. One of the killings that started the movement. There’s a lot of black on black crime going on. According to FBI data, 4,906 black people murdered other blacks in 2010 and 2011. That is 1,460 more black Americans killed by other blacks in two years than were lynched from 1882 to 1968, according to the Tuskegee Institute. The people feel as if we don’t care about ourselves so why should they. Every time an African American kill one another that’s one less they have to worry about. Blacks as a whole should want to stick together considering the past of African Americans. Since “Black Lives Matter” was created in 2012 it should be more than a hashtag, chanting, and marching. It’s a slogan to which black americans can unite to end state sanctioned violence. According to the F.B.I statistics for 2012, 2,412 of the 2,648 cases of black homicides had a black offender. Yet those claiming black lives matter fixate on Michael Brown and Eric Garner while virtually ignoring the thousands of black on black murder victims who remains nameless and faceless except to their loved
