The Fall of Rome What were the primary reasons for the “fall” of Rome? The Roman Empire was without a doubt the most powerful governing body of the Mediterranean Sea. Some of Rome’s advantages was they had a powerful army, controlled an entire body of water where people could trade from other areas in Rome. It was founded in 27 BC, and it was divided into two parts which were the Western Parts and the Eastern parts. The Western parts of Rome were destroyed, while the Eastern Parts were still standing until 1453.
