Equality For Everyone “The cost of liberty is less than the price of repression” -W.E.B Du Bois in “Evolution of The Race Problem” (Du Bois, 13). This quote is very meaningful as it is basically saying that it is always worth it to fight for your own freedom because in the end living a life where one is controlled is not one worth living at all. The lives of African American in America was never good as they were always repressed and even after the ban of slaves in 1865 (“13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: Abolition of Slavery”), African Americans were not seen as equals and treated like or less than animals. This was an important book as it gathered the attention of people around the country and allowed them to view his ideas one of them being that he disagreed with Booker’s views. W.E.B was also the first African to graduate from Harvard in 1896 showing that he is an intelligent person. Although they both wanted African Americans to have better rights,
