Steven Paul Jobs, born on February 24th, 1955 in San Francisco, California was given up for adoption a few days later. Jobs grew up with one sister and his adoptive parents Clara and Paul Jobs in Mountain View, California (“Steve Jobs” n.pg). 840 miles north, William Henry Gates III was born and raised with his two sisters in Seattle, Washington by his two parents, Mary and William Gates Sr. (“Bill Gates” n.pg). While young Steve Jobs entertained himself by playing cruel pranks on children and teachers at his elementary school, Gates found himself entranced by books and would read for hours each day. Eventually, these two polar opposites found themselves as business rivals beginning in the 1990s. Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, began his company with a goal to “define new products that customers didn’t even know they wanted, in the process overturning other real markets in, for example, personal computers, music, cell phones, tablet computing and animated movies” (Heineman n.pg). He saw potential in taking current technology and updating it to make it more affordable and more efficient. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are among the largest success

While Bill Gates was a University dropout and a former owner of a failed business, Steve Jobs went through many more hardships. He was
