The atomic bomb was powerful enough that one of them could cause devastating threats and end the war. Two atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan in August 1945. These atomic bombs took away the lives of all 20 million people at one time, and Japan immediately declared surrender in August 15th. During the Second World War, in May 1945, Germany surrendered to the Allies, and the battle is over. But, Japan had showed no signs of surrender to the Allies in the fight against the Philippines. Thus, President of United States decided to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima to beat the Japan. (854, 863-864,
The Korean War was fought between North Korea (aid of China and the Soviet Union) and South Korea (aid of the United States). The Korean War started June 25, 1950 when North Korean forces invaded South Korea. The Korean War ended on July 27, 1953 with the Korean War armistice.
The Korean War (25 June 1950 – 27 July 1953) was a war between the Republic of Korea (South Korea), supported by the United Nations, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea),
At the time of the United States decision to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, World War II had been waging for six years. Both Japan and the US had lost tons of supplies and resources, millions of dollars, and thousands of troops. The decision that finally ended the war was taken by the U.S on August 6, 1945, when the American bomber Enola Gay dropped the very first atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. Three days later, the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, and Japan finally surrendered. However, Japan's surrender was not the intent of the United States when dropping these bombs- this was a diplomatic measure taken by the government to warn the Soviet Union against their growing influence in Europe. Dropping the atomic bombs was an unnecessary decision which cost the lives of over 300,000 innocent people and has detrimentally affected the health of generations to come.
During World War Two, two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan. On August 6th, 1945, the first bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Three days later on August 9th, 1945, a second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. Some may say that it was necessary to drop the atomic bombs because it prevented an invasion of Japan, saving the lives of many Americans and Japanese, and it forced Japan to surrender, which benefited everyone. Previous battles such as Pearl Harbor showed people that Japanese soldiers would fight ruthlessly and without surrender.
On August 6, 1945, the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, then on August 9, 1945, the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. Japan surrendered on August 14, 1945, ending World War II. It is estimated that 200,000 lives were taken in both of the bombings. Prior to these bombings, during the Potsdam Declaration, Truman advised Japan that they would face “prompt and utter destruction” if they did not surrender. ( Miller Center, 2016 ) 1. The Korean War, started in 1950, is commonly referred to as “the Forgotten War.” The war was essentially a Korean Civil War that other countries participated in under the United Nations in an effort to delay the growth of communism. The war is commonly described with the quote, “The wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong enemy,” by Omar Bradley, although he originally said so about World War II. The Korean War can be defined by the impact of World War II on Korea, the perceived invisibility of the conflict, and long-lasting effects of the Korean War. While technically the Korean War didn’t begin until 1950, the events that set the whole situation in motion actually took place a few years earlier, during the settlement
On December 4, 1941, Japan had bombed Pearl Harbor on Hawaii, U.S.A, so then America had decided to drop the first atomic bomb on August 6, 1945 on Hiroshima, Japan. The bomb destroyed 90% of the town and killed about 80,000 people. Many people had survived the bomb but they didn't know what came after that. Others died from their injuries and radiation exposure. On August 15, 1945 Japan had surrendered to America because they did not want any other bombs like the ones that hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki to hit any other major cities.
“In 1957, with the arms race in full swing, the Department of Defense had decided it was just a matter of time before an airplane transporting an atomic bomb would crash on American soil, unleashing a radioactive disaster the likes of which the world had never seem.” On August 6, 1945, the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, killing 20,000 soldiers and 70,000 – 126,000 civilians. On August 9, 1945, the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, killing 39,000 – 80,000. A total of 129,000 – 226,000 people were killed in combining both bomb droppings. Dropping both atomic bombs on Japan was necessary to end the war because the military needed to end the war, the Japanese were given fair warnings
The U.S. Government wanted to find a way to end the war quickly without sacrificing millions of Americans. So, they found one in the form of the atomic bomb. The Japanese were given warning, and a chance to declare unconditional surrender, however they didn’t respond. On August 6th, 1945 the United States dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima and the second on 3 days later. The United States had no other practical option, the bomb saved millions of American lives by ending the war quickly, and not invading Japan in a “D-Day Style” invasion.
The Vietnam War escalated from a Vietnamese civil war into a limited international conflict, in which the United States was deeply involved. The Vietnam War was fought in South Vietnam between government forces aided by the United States and guerilla forces aided by the North Vietnamese. Despite increased American military involvement and signed peace agreements in 1973, the Vietnam War did not end until North Vietnam's successful invasion of South Vietnam in 1975. The Vietnam War may have been the longest war in American history, but after South Vietnam collapsed, America was left to question their highly controversial involvement in a lost cause.
In early August 1945 atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These two bombs quickly caused Japan to surrender and the end of American involvement in World War II. Hiroshima had been almost completely destroyed with around 80 thousand people killed. Since Japan was economically and militarily devastated in 1945, the use of the atomic bombs brought about a conclusion to the war in the pacific, and also led to many problems and the destruction of much of the cities, and their populations. The dropping of the atomic bomb was an important event in history, ending World War II.
On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped the first atomic bomb in history, on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, killing an estimated total of 135,000 men, women, and children. Three days after, on August 9, 1945, history was made again when the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki in Japan, killing roughly 65,000 people. Subsequently, on September 2, 1945, the finally Japanese surrendered, which brought the second World War to a close. Whether the United States knew at the time or not, these decisions would become one of the greatest and most debated controversies of modern world history.
On August 6, 1945, President Harry Truman informed the world that an atomic weapon had been detonated on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The first atom bomb caused major damage to Hiroshima. “An estimated 130,000 people were killed during this bombing. Two days later, the Soviet Union declared war on Japan. On August 9, a second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, where 80,000 Japanese people perished. After the two horrific bombings, Japan has had enough. Japan finally surrenders on August 14, 1945.
I’m going to present about Korean War that happened between 1950 to 1953. I think Korean War was one of the important wars like Vietnam War (베트남 워) because the Korean War was actually close to the World War III if United States launched the small nuke or Soviet Union participated in the war actively. But fortunately it didn’t happened.
On May 7, 1945, Germany surrendered, ending World War II in Europe. May 8, 1945 was known as “Victory in Europe Day”. However, Japan was still fighting in the war. The United States took care of the problem. On August 6, 1945, the U.S. under the leadership of Harry Truman dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. On August 9, 1945, the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. On August 14, 1945, Japan surrendered to the Allies, officially ending World War II everywhere. The atomic bombs caused a lot of destruction in their wake. The Americans were justified in dropping the atomic bombs on Japan because Japanese leaders refused to surrender, the Japanese needed to pay for the atrocious acts that they had committed, and
