“A hero to me is someone who saves people and who really deeply cares.” A quote from actor Debi Manzar. A hero is not just someone who receives praise. A hero is someone who truly helps another, even in a simplistic way. A leading cause for someone to be a hero can stay under the radar.

We may all agree that today's heroes think about others before of themselves. For example, September 11, 2001 there was a terrorist attacked on the twin towers in New York. Some of the heroes in that situation were the firefighters, the police, and even some of the employers. While the towers were burning to ashes, some of the employers ran towards the fire to help people get out.

“ A hero is somebody who voluntarily walks into the unknown .” When a hero keeps on going and never stop trying that makes them a hero.When a hero puts there life at risk just to save another life, even though it could mean losing their own that makes them a hero. Someone who goes through great challenges but never stops trying is a hero. Ahero is not someone who gives up or someone who is selfish.Heroism is being selflessness, someone who makes sacrifices, and someone who never gives up.

In short, heroes are selfless men and women who don’t cower in times of need and, if necessary, sacrifice themselves. We need more heroes today. Like the firefighters on 9/11, we need to show our bravery. We need fewer power-hungry men who will stop at nothing to get their power and we need more selfless leaders who are

They experience physical and mental trauma. Heroes risk their life for their country. Heroes are men and women in the United States military.

On 9/11, hundreds of police and firefighters died fighting to save lives; to do their jobs under unfathomable conditions. Many of them charged into those towers knowing the danger. Some of them stayed in the towers in defiance of commands to withdraw because they would not abandon the wounded, like my father. My father stayed in the fiery wreckage to save my grandmother. After the collapse, more police and firefighters rushed into a dark, burning abyss in a frantic effort to find survivors. This was not a magical and unlikely assembly of superheroes. It was a gathering of normal people driven into extraordinary circumstances who did all that they could do despite their fears. They were like us: some good, some bad, some modest, some proud, some reliable, some not. Faced with unparalleled circumstances, they did not say "I can't do this." They stepped up. They died, but they died struggling to save others, and in some cases undeniably succeeded. It's essential to call the cops, firefighters, passengers of Flight 93, and the men and women who lost their lives that day heroes. They are, but not in the sense that they are a people apart from us, a people who were able to meet tremendous challenges because they have some sort of bizarre talents. This is a great representation of heroism because it shows that people who do not have to go and save the people fleeing Manhattan did. War is a time were people have to commit vicious crimes against other people to defend their own people, so killing others is a normal thing. Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they’re going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else’s. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy’s leg. She was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy’s leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests.

The truth is that we look up to people who make a difference in our lives while at the same time overcoming personal struggle and hardship to achieve that goal. We admire their bravery and dedication; we aspire to be as courageous and focused as they are to achieve what they set out to do.

Nonetheless, the new century would prove to bring change to the definition of a hero; the September 11th attacks ushered in a tidal wave of social change. On the horrific day in American history, ordinary people rose to the occasion and risked their lives for the survival of countless others. From this act of terrorism, the definition of a “hero” was redefined; no longer does a hero have to be a war hero or save the lives of the entire nation, but a selfless act of bravery for others can be truly heroic.
