Bravery is the mental or moral strength to venture and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. Fear is what one feels when fighting, knowing that he or she could die. For example, when
Courage in simple words means an act of bravery. Everyone has their own definition, for some the meaning is much more complicated for others it's very simple. When I think of someone who is courageous I think of my Dad and military individuals people who have fought for their country. People like doctors and scientists people who don't think about themselves when faced with a choice to give up. My definition of courage is a person that has the strength needed to do the unthinkable. Certainly, that is not just it. Courage takes a bigger picture of an act of bravery. When one is courageous enough to do what is right, he earned the utmost respect of human spirit. While some may see being courageous has to be doing a big thing, it boils down to a thing as small as saying “Sorry, I was
9a. Courage and bravery- the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, and pain; making a fine appearance
Bravery is often defined as having courage or being intrepid, but it’s much more than that, it’s having strength to face danger.
Bravery is a trait that people desire. It reveals the true heroes, and since not all people can be a true hero, bravery is not found in all. While some people might not show it, there are people who have shown it in incredible amounts, both in the fictional world and in the non-fictional world.
What it means to be a well rounded individual is by showing bravery, loyalty, and knowledge. People with integrity are those who put the needs of someone before themselves. They try save no matter the outcome or the risk involved. Loyalty, Bravery, and knowledge make character. People who demonstrate character include soldiers for their loyalty, sea captains for their bravery, and teachers for their knowledge.
Bravery is a great trait for a hero to posses. I think bravery is a key quality because you don’t always know what lies ahead of you and you have to be brave to continue. A good example of this is Charles Lindburgh. He was the first person to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. I believe that took a great amount of bravery because no one had ever made it across, so he didn’t know what lie ahead of him. One of his many good quotes he said, “The most effective way to do it, is to just do it”, (Lindburgh 1).
If this world did not have any brave people, we would be in a very different place. I would define bravery as taking action during a difficult situation, even if you are fearful. Man, would have never made it to the moon, Mt. Kilimanjaro would still be unexplored, and many countries would still be under dictatorship, if brave people did not overcome these obstacles. Many people believe bravery is only when facing danger. Bravery comes in all sorts of forms, such as standing up to the neighborhood bully, being the first to try a new deep sea submarine, shielding children with your body during an active shooter in a school, or even standing up and giving a speech on human rights. Everyday, brave men and women go to work and don’t think twice
Courage is a very complicated trait as it can be perceived in many different ways. Google defined it as the ability to do something that frightens one, but to me it means doing what is right when you are faced with all the wrong choices. While courage has multiple different definitions there is also many different ways one can display that they have courage. Courage can be standing up for a friend, a soldier going back into gunfire to pull out a wounded friend. An example of courage for me is when my dad was deployed after I was born my mom had to have the courage to trust that he would come back safe while taking care of me and my sister after having moved to a new state. Another example of courage for me would be when i
Courage is over ruling your fear and doing whatever you think is right, no matter the consequences. There are many different types of definitions of courage, varying on the person. The one I just stated is my definition of courage. The different types of courage are: Social/Moral courage, Intellectual/Emotional courage, and Physical courage. Social/Moral courage is when you do the right thing, even at the risk of being embarrassed, excluded, unpopular, rejected, shamed, and disapproved. Intellectual/Emotional courage is when you accept challenging ideas, and to question the thinking from yourself, even at the risk of making a mistake or mistakes. It also involves not avoiding having hard conversations and emotions, and facing the truth and taking time to reflect on it, even when painful.
I think that Brave means that you are fearless. I think Brave means that you are fearless because it is also, like you are daring. Also, I think that it is that you are not afraid of doing anything. Brave also means, that you are powerful and also very strong. Those are some words what Brave means to me.
Many things have a clear definition. However, some do not. What is bravery? Is it that you are willing to physically fight? Is it that you are fearless? To me, bravery is never giving up and standing up for what you believe in despite whatever the circumstances.
“Don’t be afraid of your fears. They are not there to scare you. They are there to let you know that something is worth it.” What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word “bravery”? For some, they may think of a soldier fighting in a war or a superhero saving innocent people from a villain, but what others don’t think about is that a regular person like you and me can be the bravest person ever. My definition of bravery is someone who faces dangerous or difficult situations for others.
Bravery is characterized as fearlessness, valor and nerve but there is more to that definition. Bravery is knowing you are going to lose but still get up and give it your best. This lesson is taught throughout the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, through characters plot and motifs.
There are several different opinions of what bravery truly means. Some advocate that bravery exemplifies the lack of fear, while on the other hand, others insinuate that being hospitable is the more accurate definition of bravery. In the novel, Divergent, written by Veronica Roth, strength and courage above all else defines the word bravery for most characters. All Dauntless are firm and vigorous warlike people who are constantly being systematized to prove themselves by dangling over a chasm, fighting, jumping onto moving trains, and doing uncountable enterprises. Due to the ever increasing amount of arguments in Dauntless' compound, the conception of bravery becomes confused,
