The definition of courage, to me, is not being afraid to step out of your comfort zone and do things that are might potentially be scary, new or frightening. There are three general types of courage: social/moral courage, intellectual/emotional courage and physical courage. Social/moral courage describes a way of courage where you put your popularity aside and take risks that might be embarrassing or jeopardize your popularity. Physical courage is when you try to help other people when you could end up risking your injuring yourself, or when you take risks that might seem dangerous or unnecessary. We can see examples of courage all around us. From people protesting ideas that are unfair, to people standing up to bullies, to bungee jumping off a cliff, to

The events are preliminarily put into action through Harold hearing the voice of the author of a book about his life. In To Kill A Mockingbird, a tomboyish six-year-old, Jean Louise “Scout” Finch, discovers the true meaning of camaraderie and bravery. Her friendships are strong but her definition of courage is flawed. In the end, she realizes a great truth, that to really know someone, you have to imagine yourself in their shoes. Courage is important to these two characters, as they both discover what it really means to be brave and what the true definition of courage is. Courage is not always outspoken, sometimes courage is knowing that you will fail, but trying and failing anyway and then accepting your failure.
Courage can be defined in a multitude of ways, but the most accurate definition is doing something despite the fact that it can be fearsome or challenging. Just like Hester Prynne, Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr., there are countless examples of courageous people both in history and in fiction who have stood up for what they believe although others may not have agreed with them. Bravery can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. Some people might think bravery is mainly stupidity, but I can promise you it’s plenty more than that. In order to achieve anything you must be brave enough to fail. Be bold, be brave enough to be your true self. If it wasn’t for brave people in this world there is no telling where we might be right now. Everyone Is brave in their own way. While some people think bravery means giving up and laying down or being scared to face your fears, to me it means that it’s a strive that keeps you going no matter what life throws at you.
HMS Courageous was the lead ship of the Courageous-class cruisers built for the Royal Navy during the First World War.
