The romantic era happened during the early eighteenth century in which poets mainly wrote about freedom, god, emotion and nature. The romantic era was a musical, artistic and literary movement where freedom, god, emotion and nature were emphasised. The main reasons for this were because of the industrial revolution, the french revolution and the period before this which was the classical era, also known as the enlightenment. The industrial revolution heavily impacted society making it a huge part in the start of the romantic era. The industrial revolution happened during the romantic era and was when machines started to do jobs that humans would usually do. Tyger is a poem that strongly focuses on the concepts of religious beliefs and nature. The poem is made up of six stanzas all asking questions about how god could create such a thing and when he started, how he could continue to create such a beast. The first and last stanza of the poem are the same except, instead of asking who could create tiger he asks who dare create the tiger. Blake compares the creator to the blacksmith and uses the beat of the poem to represent god hammering the tiger into existence. Through out this poem Blake asks why god could create such a thing of beauty and sorrow and how humans could live in a world with both beauty and horror. I wondered lonely is based on a real life experience that Wordsworth had when he was walking with his sister Dorothy and saw a group of daffodils on the side of a lake. The poem is made up of four sestets and metered in iambic tetrameter. The poem also uses a lot of personification for example, “Fluttering and dancing in the breeze”. In this poem Wordsworth talks about him encountering a field of daffodils dancing in the breeze. Wordsworth shows how beautiful nature is and how much joy it can bring to people in this poem. In the first stanza he describes how he felt lonely until he saw a group of daffodils, “I wandered lonely as a cloud”, “When all at once I saw a crowd”. In the last stanza Wordsworth says that when he was at home lying on his couch he wasn’t in the best mood but all of a sudden the image of daffodils popped in his head and he was filled with joy, “For oft when on my couch I lie”, “And then my heart with pleasure
