Culture is an important aspect of everyone’s lives whether they believe so or not. It is important to think about culture through different ways and that is what I had the privilege of doing by interviewing my grandma and my Spanish teacher. Comparing and contrasting was the most important concept when it came to deciphering what the importance is when it comes to culture. The most important aspect that both interviewees discussed was the importance of education and family, their values.
Process
My interview with my grandma actually lasted over an hour and a half. It took me about five and a half hours to type up the script alone. Although it was a time consuming process, it made some concepts clearer to me. After typing that interview, I typed my interview with my Spanish teacher. Sadly, she did not feel comfortable being recorded so I had to go off of the notes that I took during the interview. After I finished typing the interviews, I went back through each of them twice, looking for ideas that both of them may have had or ideas that differed. Most of my findings were identical. I then tried to think of reasons that this happened. My best answer was that, even if we may look different, belong to a different religion, and so on, we are more similar than we think.
Findings and Analysis The concept of culture has become clearer and clearer as this process continues. It has become apparent that culture is literally just who we are. In my opinion, culture can be the people
