Abortion is a very controversial topic and everyone has his or her own opinion. I am not against abortions, but I would never have one. Identifying myself as pro- choice, I believe that choosing abortion is a right that shouldn’t be limited by governmental or religious authority. I feel as that abortion does kill a human being. The child may not be fully developed, but it is still a child that needs nutrition and can feel pain and can hear and jump up and down.
In some cases, abortions can be an only option or the least painful one. In example, if the pregnancy will result in the death of the mother, if the fetus is not and can never be viable outside the womb, and in issues of rape and incest. A woman, who’s been raped and as a result leads
In this article Jessica Valenti (2015) provides a supporting argument in a pro feminist direction, against the criminalization of women who seek out abortions within the US. As the author explains, women in desperate situations will do whatever they feel is necessary to end a pregnancy when they have decided that is what they want to do. It is necessary to provide support for these women, instead of alienating them further when they are in a vulnerable state.
During the 20th century, there were a great number of high profile, controversial Supreme Court cases. From Brown v. Board of Education to Employment Division, Department of Human Resources of Oregon v. Smith, no case stands out as much as Roe v. Wade. Roe v. Wade covered grounds that have never been dealt with before, bringing new issues and debates to the table, such as the right to privacy.
A whopping fifty seven million babies are aborted each year. Fifty seven million valuable lives. The definition of abortion is the loss of a fetus before it is able to live outside of the womb. I am Pro-Life. All fetuses have the right to life and it should not be taken from them. In contrast, people who are Pro-Choice may beg to differ.
Imagine if you were placed in a life or death situation and you had no way to fight for life. This is the circumstance that unborn children encounter when they are forced to experience an abortion, which terminates them and tortures them during their mother’s pregnancy. Abortion is wrong and should be illegal, because it violates the rights of an unborn human being who doesn’t have control over what happens to them. I believe everyone should be against abortion due to my personal opinion as well as genuine facts of the negative effects this procedure has. Abortion is a touchy subject that people feel very strongly about, whether they are “pro life” or “pro choice”.
When I think about abortion, I am pro choice. I believe in being pro choice because women should have the right to choose if they would like to hold a baby for 9 long months or not to hold the baby. Although there are certain circumstances about having an abortion is most advocate. For example, if a woman is walking on street, and gets sexually assaulted (raped) and soon later finds out she is pregnant, she should decide if she wants to have her attackers child. That is why I believe it should be a woman's decision to be able to keep the child, and not a law to decide. Beliefs should not make an impact on decision that's someone might feel is
In many cases of abortion, the woman involved has no choice but to get an abortion. For example, when a ten year old is raped, she has not chosen to have the sex nor was it her choice to get pregnant, if that ten year old is forced to have her rapist’s child against her will she may die. A ten year old’s reproductive system has not developed
The ongoing dispute of abortion has condemned the idea of women aborting their unborn child. Whether it be lack of support, critical physical or mental health, rape, or not being ready for such responsibility - all women have a reason for having an abortion. Therefore, women should have the free will to do what proves necessary and beneficial to themselves and their pregnancy.
Women’s reproductive rights have been endangered from early history. A woman’s job included housework and child birth. Around 1920, women started receiving their choices and rights. In the 21st century, women are looked at with fairness and receive equal opportunities, but there is one right being stripped from women: the choice of using birth control and aborting pregnancy. Society frowns upon aborting a fetus in the womb, but it fails to realize the circumstantial standing each woman is placed in and should accept the decision a woman decides for her future whether it is to use birth control or abort her pregnancy.
As said, I believe that deciding whether to abort or not is not an easy decision for anyone, and that is why in my opinion, that hard decision should be left to be made by the woman in question. I am pro-choice because I think woman should be able to decide for themselves about their future, and nobody should restrict that freedom. I understand that there is a lot of morality involved in this issue with the fact that abortion is murderer, and people has strong positions about it. But at the end of the day, how I see it, is that nobody should force a woman to give birth to a child they do not want, because it is both not fair for the woman to be forced to take care and raise that child, and also it is not fair for an innocent baby to be born
When it comes to abortion, everyone has a slightly different view. Whether one believes that no one, or everyone, should be allowed to get an abortion, the same question comes into play: Is abortion ethical? In addition, when does a human life actually start? Without concrete facts, we can only do so much with those questions, which is why this is such a controversial topic. We need to consider all the facts and information available. For example, whether or not a fetus feels pain, how old the fetus is, and what condition the pregnant woman is in. The main argument comes down to pro-life versus pro-choice. After doing extensive research, I have come to agree with the side of pro-choice, meaning that
This author has chosen to discuss the ethical issues of abortion. This is a highly debated topic that will exist amongst women. It is happening at high rates. “In 2013, 664,435 legal induced abortions
The right of this issue is the Right to Obtain an Abortion. The right at issue is whether or not unwed mothers under 18 should have parental consent to have an abortion. There is an unremunerated right at issue in this situation because the Illinois Law doesn’t explain if they requires both parent’s consent or just one parent or if the mother is under 18 and married, will she need the father’s permission to obtain an abortion. This is a substantive due process because this law is interfering with your individual privacy rights. The case ruling of Planned Parenthood v. Casey, the court reaffirmed its 1973 decision on Roe v. Wade, which established its constitutional right to obtain
Abortion has been one of the most popular and argumentative topics that has still yet to be settled. Ultimately the question we can ask when trying to solve this issue is whether or not pregnant women should have the right to kill an unborn baby. Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy before birth takes place and is a moral wrong. Can we as a society call ourselves human if we allow the deaths of unborn babies to take place? Those who take the side of pro-choice or as also known as pro-abortion often use statements concerning life, humanity, human rights and freedom to support their claims. I believe abortion should be illegal because we as a society must protect the human lives that are in danger whether or not they are in their first
I agree completely that the fetus, or the human embryo, is in fact a living being. Moreover, human embryo is the “same” as human beings except, the difference between these two is that the embryo is not a full human person because the fetus is not fully developed yet. Every new life, whether it be animal or human, begins at conception. With this being said, no matter what the circumstances of conception, no matter how far along in the pregnancy, abortion, in my opinion, always ends the life of an individual human being.
Legalized abortion gives women a relief because they know that they are the owners of their body and control it and give consent or don’t give consent to an abortion. If a woman becomes raped and unfortunately becomes pregnant, she won’t feel obligated to keep a baby from a stranger or from a psychopath who rapes random women. The raped victim also might not like the idea of carrying a child from which she was raped because she will constantly be reminded that she was raped and once again feel the endless pain. In the article, Humiliation, Degradation, Penetration”, it is mentioned how females who have been raped feel that it is unjust and psychologically unfair to keep the baby from a rape incident (Green 2013). Additionally, incest, the act of
