What is an American?
America, one of the largest and most famous countries in the world. Mainly the most known for allowing freedom. The United States of America is one of the only countries in the world that permits equal rights for men and women. It is the only country in the world made out of many different countries and religions. America contains more than 300 million people, and ¾ of the population are immigrants. Immigrants are people who were born in different countries who migrate to new ones. ¼ of the American population was born here. I am part ¼ population. The United States has many names (USA, America, United States, The United States of America), however, one of the names that it 's mostly referred to by other countries is, Melting Pot. A melting Pot isn 't really a name, however it 's a reference. Basically the melting pot refers to America as Melting Pot of Cultures. The United States is a country of immigrants. It’s a place where people from all over the world come to build a better life. Some immigrants bring their families. The real question is, what is an American? Like what makes an American what they are? What IS America? There actually is many things that makes someone living in the USA, an American and things that MADE the USA what it is today. As America has grown more diverse, the definition of an American has changed through the past centuries. America is not what it used to be, our nation no longer cares about giving and caring for others. Americans are so caught up in the commotion of being on top and not about what goes on in the world around them. There are many reasons the definition of an American has changed but these are just a few of the generalized reasons: how Americans no longer care for giving, society changing, and the desire for wanting more.
When asking a random person what it means to be an American, it is surprising the multitude of different answer you get it. For some people it means being a citizen of the United States of America. Others might say it means being free. Many would not argue that it means relating to America. The different responses are innumerable. According to Merriam Webster dictionary, the word American is a noun and adjective. In each definition, references to the geographical Americas is made. Is there a right or wrong answer to this question? Any person's opinion of America, good or bad, is the answer to what American really means.
What does it mean to be an American? Being an American means a multitude of different things. It depends on who the person is and what is the most important to them. It may be that they are free, or that they are proud, or simply because they appreciate the country’s history. Being an American is having freedom and being able to do things with that freedom. It’s about having freedom of religion, rights, and justice. It also means having equality. To be an American means you have the right and freedom to do what you want. It means having the freedom of speech. It means you can be yourself. To be an American mainly means having freedom.

In reality the American Dream is just living like any average American in the United States , living with the right to have life, liberty , and the pursuit of happiness. It means that Americans have the right to vote if they want , have the right to speak their minds , or even publish what they want . It is being a republic civilization with a national government system that limits and protects American citizen laws from being violated.

The reason for this is because we have things that other people in different countries have. I think sometimes we even take advantage of the thing that we have.
