Founders Leroy and Forest Raffel founded the first Arby’s in 1964. Leroy and Forrest want a taste of something different. The first Arby’s was opened in Boardman, Ohio, and it served their famous hot, freshly sliced roast beef sandwiches. In 1975 about ten years after they first opened, they decided that they needed to give Arby’s a makeover. They changed their classic ten gallon hat and replaced it with a sleeker hat but the classic ten gallon hat can still be found on their sign outside of their restaurants. In 1978 they added a new burger to their menu, the Cheddar roast beef sandwich. The Cheddar roast beef sandwich had roast beef, cheddar cheese sauce, zesty red onions, and a toasted onion roll. But Arby’s still had their great roast

Panera Bread’s mission statement is “a loaf of bread in every arm”. I find this to be very shallow, lacking direction for employees and meaning. For a company, as successful as Panera, I expected a more developed mission statement. It fails to address some of the key criteria that belongs in effective mission statements. For example, it doesn’t guide employee behavior, address the customers experience and doesn’t tell the employees how the company wants to operate and what type of company it is. Back when its main focus was just on bread this mission statement might have been suitable but now I believe it should show their growth and expansion over the years.
Our business strategy involves providing customers with differentiated, easy to use, secure products and solutions that leverage information to meet customer needs. The types of technology and levels of service that are acceptable to customers and members today will not necessarily be acceptable in the future, requiring us to anticipate and meet marketplace demands for technology. (Aetna Inc., 2014, p.65) Even with this chosen strategy, company’s still need to be competitive on cost.
When you think of Walmart you think of food, clothing, decorations for your home and many other things. But no one really digs deep into the History of Walmart. Walmart is a major business that everyone knows about. But does everyone know the history of Walmart.
In-N-Out Burger is a fast food restaurant chain with more than 300 locations across the five states of California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Texas. It is one of the most popular fast food restaurants in the American Southwest, and preferred by a lot of people. The restaurants interior has a 1950’s burger joint appeal to it with its checkered floor, framed pictures of 57 Chevys and tiled walls. In-N-Out Burger is widely known for their simplistic menu, which consists solely of hamburgers, fries, and milkshakes. There are no words that can truly describe my love for In-N-Out. This is my favorite “go-to” restaurant because they offer quality, freshness, and excellent customer service.
