At the beginning of the month we stopped at the sweetwater river crossing because the land was ideal for camping and lavish for the animals. At nightfall we were attacked by another tribe of native americans, this battle was faster although more meaningful because 7 of my close friends died in the battle. Joseph and Tom both died in the battle leaving Tom, Dave and I left in the council. Joseph's death was early on in the battle, him and his family were slaughtered horrifically as joseph was fighting off the indians he watched as his daughter was decapitated and wife's throat was cut open as she screamed and pleaded, Joseph upon watching was distracted from the task at hand and was stabbed in the stomach and was left to bleed to death on the
The Cape Fear River and Southport area were originally explored by both French and Spanish explorers in the early 1500s. English settlers arrived in the mid 1600s and established residency along the river. The actual roots of Southport date to 1744 when a British fort, Fort Johnston, was planned to control access via the Cape Fear River. A small community began to grow outside the fort and the city of Smithville was established in 1792. The original name was chosen to honor Benjamin Smith, a general during the Revolutionary War and later a governor of North Carolina. The name was changed to Southport in 1887 in anticipation of establishing the area as the most southern major port in North Carolina.

Osceola's original name was, Billy Powell. He was born in a small village now known as, Tallassee, Alabama. When he was a child, him and his family moved and settled to Florida with other members of their tribe after the Creek War in 1814. The big reason they left was because, their cheif told them, they would be paid each year for the next 20 years for the land. The Americans said if the Indians did not move, there would be bloodshed. Most of Billy's early life is unknown. However, they do know that, his father was an English Trader. Billy's maternal grandfather, James McQueen, was also an English trader. He is one of the first dated European to trade with the Creek tribe. Most of Billy's life, he considered Powell to be his stepfather and asserted that he was full blooded. Hence he didint like the name Billy Powell. He thought it didint go with his Indian
There are many time ecologists are concerned about the effect of exploitation of natural resources to the interrelated terrestrial and linked aquatic ecosystem. The area under study involves related terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem of south Florida ecosystem, and it is tough to underestimate the impact of exploitation of one ecosystem to the other as these two ecosystems are interlinked in one way or other. The ecosystem description is that it consists of an aquatic environment characterized by the Kissimmee-Okeechobee-Everglades ecosystem that consists of river Kissimmee and Okeechobee Lake. To the other end is the linked terrestrial ecosystem around this aquatic ecosystem such an Everglades national park, big cypress preserve, and Biscayne
Water rights is a very interesting topic that may have no right answer, but Texas has tried to answer as many questions as possible about who owns what water. In the case of groundwater, Texas has historically given the right to pump the groundwater to the individual person that owns the land, however, this person does not own the groundwater. The landowner may pump as much water as they want even if it completely drains neighboring peoples water sources, the water can also be sold to other entities. All major surface water is claimed by the Texas government, with an exemption for domestic use and livestock. Ownership of water in rivers and streams are given to the landowner if the waterbed cannot be navigated,
Today, storm water runoff is the number one cause of pollution in the Puget Sound. The pollutants contained in storm water runoff are mainly caused by urban runoff, factory farming, and chemicals. Urban runoff can produce pollutants such as gasoline, grease, ammonia, manure, toxic chemicals, and pesticides. In factory farming, the main problem is the production of manure which is extremely bad for the Puget Sound because of the high levels of nitrates it contains. Chemicals carry numerous pollutants which can alter marine life genetics and harm human health. Alternatives to the problems lie in green infrastructure, greenroofs, bio-swales, and porous concrete; however, the solution to the

In the Mid-1850s a group of trappers ran into a small group of native Americans with a cart of whitefish. They caught it in a long narrow lake. And about 40 years later that lake had a name and a town to match it. This is small town, Whitefish, Montana. It is in the northwest corner of Montana. It has a reputation for being a big tourist town, with a ski resort and the 36 hole golf course. Who wouldn’t want to spend time here. But this town hasn’t always been a big attraction.
The topic of Mexican immigration recently made headlines again when republican presidential candidate Donald Trump released a 3 page statement detailing his blunt beliefs on Mexican immigrants. Either way, there are nearly twenty four million people of Mexican decent living in the United States that have started their own communities which contribute to American society. Many American’s however, refuse to accept this and are still prosecuting Mexican’s. This can be seen in the media, public schools, and in the work place.
