Friendship can mean many things to many people. For example, when I think of friendship I think of my best friends at school. When my mom thinks of friendship, however, she might think of our dog or my dad. What comes to mind for you is most likely different than the person next to you. This is because friendship is not about “she’s always there for me when I need her most,” or “he can make me laugh in the saddest of times.” Although it can be true, those sappy quotes aren’t what make a great friend. Having great friend for me includes having someone to talk to anytime, someone that you are able to enjoy yourself with, and someone that truly cares for you the same way you care for them. All in all, true friendship is what you feel in your heart a friend should be. All of my friends have traits of a great companion, including being someone I can always talk to.
