Many students feel very burned out from doing homework which causes stress, time constraints and disrupted routines. Why are students required to do homework anyway? It’s a waste of time so they should not be required to do H.W. Homework is causing students stress which is resulting in students spending time with their family and friends. It is also causing students not to be burned out and not as engaged with school as they should be. Even though students need to learn how to manage time effectively, including budgeting time to complete homework assignments, they shouldn’t be required to do homework. But even though it may have benefits it doesn’t it doesn't improve students capability to have better grades.
To begin with, homework is causing major stress for students today. student's don't feel like they have quality time with family members and friends. Many students have routines that are being disrupted. It states in ‘Text 1’ that, “A child who has several hours of homework for example might not be able to eat dinner with her parents…” The parents might be offended that their child is not sitting with them at the dinner table to eat with them. They eat dinner late they might even sleep late and wake up late which will cause a lot of problems. A lot of homework might also mean ‘No Sports Allowed’. many students who might have a career in a sport may not be able to do so because

Even though homework made teach time management skills that is not the purpose of homework teachers assign homework for the wrong reason they shouldn't be assigning homework for any reason other than practice. I believe, as a student, that homework is just a tool that teachers use to keep us busy. Being a student who has received homework for various years, I have found that homework causes me a lot of stress (Ethos). The amount of homework given to students should decrease. The extensive amount of homework takes away family time that is necessary to child development. Also, stress that can can come with homework can cause health issues. The amount of homework given to students can cause students to cheat off students answers because they did not finish. Both adolescents and children are at risk of health issues due to anxiety and less time is spent with family, playing, and sleeping. The cause for all of this is too much homework that is suffocating students. Homework causes students to sleep less, have more stress, and even forces students to give up extracurricular activities. When a class is almost over and a teacher starts assigning homework, every student's heart drops. When students have an excess of homework, they do not do as well. Speaking for myself, being a mommy is number one no matter what is going on or what I have to do. Fortunately for me, some of the things we went over in this course my children are starting to learn in school. Nevertheless involving them with what I am doing in my homework is almost effortless. For a few of us taking a step back or take a break is vital to our study and homework time. For me personally I can not write an essay on grammar, worried what my kids are doing along with how and when dishes or laundry need to be be done. I also started utilizing a good old fashion planner along side my phone calendar and reminders, honestly just because I will flat out just forget to do something important for an example homework.
Students spend hours doing it, teachers spend hours checking it. Homework is sometimes a burden to teachers and students but still it is necessary. Some people doubt homework's effectiveness, but teachers and researchers agree homework is essential. Homework helps students get better grades in school.
The majority of students have, at one point or another, wished for less homework. For some student’s homework is not a big issue but for other students it can take hours and even days to do all their homework. That wasted time could be used for enjoyment or learning life skills instead of homework. Nine in ten high school students reported feeling stressed about homework (Galloway 4). So, should students get less homework? Yes, students should receive less homework because it improves their well-being by reducing stress and its impacts on health, increasing leisure time, and showing that homework does not affect grades significantly.
Students, parents, teachers, administrators and other interested parties all seem to have strong and different feelings towards homework. Students complain that they have too much homework to complete outside of the hours they already attended classes. Students feel that they have personal lives to live and blow off homework while some parents and teachers believe that homework is the key to passing classes and preparation for college. This leads to teachers feeling pressured to push their students to succeed and this can easily get carried away. Parents and school systems still often discuss the topic of homework today.
