There are many NFL players that excel in their position and people think that the are one of the best players. Out of all these players, a specific one stands out brighter than the others. Obviously, Brandon has never been the most talented or athletic individual compared to his football peers. Throughout his entire life, Brandon was told that his football career would amount to nothing. He was told that he was too “short” and too “fat” to ever be good. Instead of listening to what everyone had to say about his future, Brandon decided to defy the odds and determine his own fate. Determined to strive for excellence, Brandon persevered through adversity and refused to let the negative remarks of anyone bring him down. The 6’3 220 pound 28 year old star Julio Jones is a beast. He’s a wide receiver for the NFL team the Atlanta Falcons. But, how he got to the NFL is a story. Julio attended Foley High school in Alabama, and went to the SECC College Alabama. His years through High school were unbelievable, that’s when he broke records and set records. In High school he played wide receiver and defensive end. But he, were he shined the most was at wide receiver. Also, starting out as freshmen in college he was a 5 star recruit and was number one pick in the nation at his time.

As a life long Cincinnati Bengals fan, I have listened to Marvin Lewis speak several times in clinics and other coaching conventions. He has a sound concept of defense, and what it takes to be successful at the highest level. I also appreciate what he has done for the team I root for, as we were mired in a decade long of embarrassing seasons before his arrival. He has brought stability, consistency, and pride back to our franchise.

Adams began playing football at the age of three. He has been exposed to sports his entire life. Jackie Robinson is my topic. Jackie Robinson broke the sound barrier in 1947 by being the first African American baseball player to play in the Major leagues. I chose Jackie Robinson because he is a very important athlete who plays baseball,my second favorite sport is baseball also. Before Julio became one of the best in the NFL he played wide receiver for the University of Alabama. In two thousand nine he helped lead Alabama to a 14-0 season, including a BCS National championship. Jones was the first ever true freshman to start a season opener for the Crimson Tide. Also at the end of his freshman year season he was awarded SEC Freshman of the Year. When Jones entered the NFL combine he held the longest long jump and placed third in the forty yard dash even with a broken bone in his foot. He is eventually cleared to play through court cases and relentless commitment by the school’s administration. In the midst of all the madness and all of the hype surrounding high school football in Texas, it is clear that there is no recognition of the importance of education. There is so much emphasis put into high school football in these communities like Odessa that athletes pour all of their hopes and dreams into it. Ultimately once these you athletes are eventually stripped of the game of football, their futures are jeopardized and their lives are irrevocably damaged. They are finally exposed to the real world more underprepared than ever. Fundamentally all that is left is a few memories of athletic stardom and still an inadequate education.
