My Future Career My top three future career choices include becoming a heart surgeon, professional soccer player, and a lawyer. The reason I picked these three is I really think these occupations fit my personality which is loud, outgoing, and sometimes helpful. I also really take interest in these things and I do not think I would ever regret becoming any of these three professions in my life. In more description my top three categories for jobs that fit me are enterprising, social, and conventional. These categories really fit these three job choices that I have selected. A heart surgeon’s job is to diagnose any heart or cardiovascular problems, treat the patient by operating or giving prescribed medicines to the visiting patient. In order to be a heart surgeon you must have an internship experience as well as a residency. You also need a doctoral degree or your doctorate which can be as quick as four years or as long as eight years. It really just depends on how many courses or classes you take at once. A heart surgeon’s work environment is at the hospital around patients during the day or

The education requirement to become a lawyer is a doctoral degree or a professional degree. Even after getting all you degrees you must be organized so you can have the correct evidence for the correct case. You also must be loud spoken and be able to speak your mind which I think I can do very, very well. You also should know what the truth is and support the truth and not the evil or the criminal. The job of a lawyer is to support people in need of their help based on the evidence that is given to them. Also it is to fight for justice and the truth. And most importantly to give advice to people on what action they should take or help them with their future decisions. The work environment is also around people and in the court room most of the
What is the importance of goals? Do goals help you plan out your future? Or possibly give you something to work for? To me goals provide a map of what I want to do, how I’m going to do it, and why I want to do it. Goals also provide a sense of accomplishment when you finally get to finish whatever you’ve been working towards. The need for goals in life is clear, because without goals, we wouldn’t get much done. Simply because of the fact that there wouldn’t be anything to work towards, and no structure to our future. One of my most important goals is to graduate college, to get a career in psychology. This goal is extremely important to me because of the fact that not many people in my family have even finished high school.
Cardiac surgeons must graduate from high school, complete four years of college, four years of medical school, a 5-year general surgery residency and a 2-3 year specialized cardio or cardiothoracic fellowship. Surgeons who wish to specialize further in pediatric cardiology or heart transplant surgeries may require additional training. All cardiac surgeons must be certified in surgery by the American Board of Medical Specialists before seeking further certification for cardiothoracic surgery. Cardiothoracic surgeons need to obtain a state license. To get a license one must attend an accredited medical school, complete a residency, and pass the U.S Medical Licensing Examination or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing
Typically, when someone hears ‘medical field’, automatically you think of people with white lab coats and a stethoscope around their neck ready to take your vitals. Obviously this comes to mind because these doctors and surgeons are the face of the medical field, but in reality there is so much more. There are actually about 300 different occupations one can have in the health care field. A large part of that is nurses. Nurses are the basis of the medical field; they are almost as important as the patients themselves. They have always been a major part of our lives. Nurses have been with us since we first opened our eyes, from birth to broken bones, nurses were there. They have very difficult and extensive careers, they dedicate their lives to their work and to their patients. Some nurses spend long nights away from their family and friends to help others, at times their shifts can last as long as 24 hours. In my opinion nurses are the real super heroes, for this reason I have decided to pursue a major in nursing. I still have a lot to learn and many years of schooling to go, but personally its worth the wait.
My top three careers of interest are a Nurse Anesthetists, Phycologist or an Interior Designer. While learning about all three of these careers I could see myself doing each of them. A Nurse anesthetist interests me because I have always known I like the medical field, but have struggled to decide whether I wanted to be a nurse or a doctor; with this career, i get to do something in the middle. I also like it because it is not as much schooling as a doctor but still has the great pay. I also was really interested in being a Psychologist, when reading about this job and the skill sets it needs I feel like it would be a very good fit for me. The last job I found interesting and thought would be a lot of fun was an Interior Designer. This caught my interest because I love using my creative side.
Which is looking into the process it takes to become a surgeon. After discovering that you want to be a surgeon, you begin to look into basic medical colleges. Typically those need to be four-year colleges. Then after completing your four years of medical school and gaining a bachelors or doctorate. To gain your doctorate or bachelors you need to have taken classes in anatomy, biology and other applied sciences. Following with gaining your residency at a local hospital or where you want to pursue your career. Residency usually takes 5 years to complete, also at least 2 more years of especially cardiovascular residency. Lastly for the process is the required by state license for wherever you will be practicing medicine. Obviously being a Cardiovascular surgeon, or anything in the medical field takes a strenuous time to even become certified. After all this is completed then it finally would be time to start job searching, in the state you are licensed in. When done completing all of these years of school and residency, then at this point you can start your
My whole life I have always wanted to do something where people will remember me. I went threw millions of career choices before I came to the conclusion of a nurse. It’s not something that will get me into History books, but its something where all the people I help will remember what I did to care for them or their loved ones. My mom went to school to become and RN, but dropped out when she became pregnant with me. After that story was told to me, I didn’t want to be anything related to nursing. It wasn’t until my step mom went to school to be LPN that I realized it would be possible for me to do. I saw how much happiness it gave her, and I want the same thing. She loved helping the patients by treating them, and helping their families
As my parents continue to ask what I am doing at school, I find myself more lost and unsure. The goal so far has been to get a bachelor’s degree, and then try my luck in the workforce to see whether I need to come back to school. I am hoping to find a job with the resources provided by the school that will maximise what I have learned; I want to have my education be my strength that will give me the edge to outperform and impress the people I will work with. For my career exploration activity, I retried the Focus2 and also met with Derek in Career Services. This last time was my fifth time retaking the Focus2, and each time I get completely different results.
For the longest time I could not decide on a major and a career to study throughout college. When I came to Georgia Southern University I discovered that they had a major that was very interesting to me. Sport Management id the ideal major for my interest and me. Since I love sports I figured that this would be the career for me. A degree in Sport Management helps to prepare for success in sport related occupations.
There are several options available for the workforce after high school, with these jobs you don’t have a college degree but some college courses might help your advancement. One of the job opportunities is retail management. A retail manager overlooks the whole day to day operations as well as managing the store. A career in retail management requires specific skills and training, offers common compensation and benefits, and has an expected career path and opportunity for advancement.
My Career Plan The future is uncertain for me, but it is important to develop a career plan that will provide financial support and personal fulfillment over the course of my professional life. To make this transition from school to a professional career, I am going to plan a plan that will help me stay focused and motivated in meeting my goals and objectives. In the next paragraphs, I will explain my ten-year plan for my
The question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” meant so many things throughout middle childhood, adolescence, and was even relevant in adulthood. My interests varied from law, to education, and even construction for a period. It took most of my lifetime and lived experiences, up until very recently, to actually figure out, make a decision, and follow through, with my true occupational goals. This paper will examine my current career path and goals. It will investigate the results of the O*Net Interest Profiler in which I participated, and how they compare to my current occupational goals. Finally, it will discuss gained insights and further resources for future career exploration.
In the contemporary world university degree is very important and many students enter the university each year to earn their bachelors or Master’s. Usually people use their university degree to advance their careers and to achieve success. But those people who have ambitions and who determinate with their career plans, the best decision is to continue education and to develop and improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills in chosen field. Besides educational background, practical experience also lays important role in the career. Due to my current obligations (work/life) I have the desire to receive further education cannot interrupt my current career and do not have an opportunity to attend traditional classes and to devote
Being a lawyer means that there are many responsibilities to carry out. It takes a great deal of timing and patience to finish the job, which I'm sure I can handle. Being a lawyer can be a tough job to work on. All you have to do is work as much as you can to succeed on the case
Career progression is the aim for most workers, but career development is not something most of us think regularly. But without proper understanding of what we want from our career and how we can achieve our goals quicker, we can quickly end up dissatisfied with our jobs.
I have chosen a career as a paralegal. This is a field that I expect will be both challenging as well as professionally rewarding. As a paralegal, I will assist attorneys in the delivery of legal services (National Association of Legal Assistants, 2008). A career in paralegal studies is a prestigious, professional adventure and offers a wonderful opportunity while enhancing ones knowledge of the law and provides for challenges, growth and advancement.
