My greatest accomplishment is when my 5th grade basketball team won the championship. Our team practice everyday for 2 hours and our record was 23-1. We were the first team ever to win in our age division to ever win for St.Mary’s. We had a hard time in the beginning of the season. One of our best players injured her knee. She was running towards the loose ball and her knee twisted. She was out for the rest of the season. Looking back on it made me better because I learned how hard you to to practice or try to achieve your goal.
The best thing that ever happened to me is when my baseball team beat Brandon Valley for the first place position in regionals. Brandon Valley was our rivals and we hated each other for not really any reason. We knew at the start of the game that winning this would put us in first place. We had lost to Brandon Valley twice before but they were beatable. It was a home game near the end of July and sunny. The conditions were great for baseball. Our nerves were high and waiting for the game to start seemed like an eternity.
Our team went undefeated for our first 16 games, and then our 17th game we had our first tie. We were used to killed the team we tied to, but that proves if you don’t come ready not everything is going to go your way. Some of the kids kind of took it the wrong way. We won 14 more games after that and kept playing strong. Then we had our final playoff game to see who was going to state or not.
There is no other place that would make me work this hard at everything I do, but now I know I could do it. Before being an MEHS student, I relied in only my grades, but getting those good grades with such simplicity was bringing me nowhere. After hearing about Mt. Edgecumbe I was scared that I could not make it up there. After two years of being a student there, I understand that succeeding at Mt. Edgecumbe is no simple task, but it could be done by someone who truly give it everything they have. Although this would be one of he most streaneus accomplishments I had ever achieved, I know I that I could do it if given the
As a black male who grew up in a low-income family in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and recently immigrated to the US, I am confident that I will significantly contribute to the diversity and education of the University of Colorado School of Medicine community. Through my unique perspectives, community awareness, and personal resilience I know that I will be a positive attribute the CUSOM and the communities it serves.
An accomplishment I am proud of relates to my first year in high school football. The school I went to I started off not knowing nobody besides a few people. My first day of practice I was not this big guy or had this football player image that everyone imagined, so everyone looked over me as just another bench player. Walking into our first meeting I saw a guy standing there and he looked like a senior with arms as big as thors. The first thought that came to my mind was looks like im not starting this year. As practices went on both players and coaches saw my talent and knew I had something to give to the team so the head coach made me a head captain, which only two people could have those spots, of the team and gave me a starting spot. Everyones
The past few years I have had many unique opportunities and made many different decisions on the direction my life is taking. I have had multiple goals and challenges and where I am today has been formed with factors I did not always anticipate. For the last few years, I have worked in management, but before that I worked a variety of jobs. The different jobs I have worked have provided insight as to where I am now and how I would like to spend the remainder of my life.
The first game I actually started was St. Louis Park. I played good and we ended up destroying them. Another big game for us was Irondale. We came out slow and it was a game for the block. Coach could see that we weren't determined, so he gave a famous loud and mean halftime speech. That made us determined and reminded us about everything we've been to and the characteristics that's we needed. We came in the second half and scored on the first play. We then took off and killed Irondale. After that we beat De La Salle 62-14 on homecoming. That was a fun game. We all had a great time and we grew together as brothers in the locker room dancing and singing to crazy songs like Moskaou. Then we destroyed Armstrong 42-0 at their
Studying in the U.S. and being a student of Portland State University is my most outstanding accomplishment to date. I always had a dream to study abroad and it became true when I moved to the U.S. three years ago. I enrolled at Portland Community College in Fall term 2013. Although it was difficult to adapt to a different culture and school system, I have been successful in my studies. Out of the seven terms at Portland Community College, I have earned a place on the Presidents' List four times in a row, twice on the Deans' List and once on the Honors' List. I transferred to PSU in Fall 2016 and continue to be a good student. While at PSU, I was accepted to an internship which will start in Spring 2017. The main strengths that help me be successful
For basketball I have achieved a lot, in my mind. My sister and I have a team, The Lady Warriors, that has traveled out of state quite a bit. My team and my family worked together to raise enough money to we could go to more places and get more experience. Lady Warriors has gone to Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Las Vegas, and
My greatest accomplishment in math is learning to count up to one thousand. My quest started in kindergarten. It was really hard for me at first, but with the help from Mrs. Wortley, mom, and dad, I soon became a master of counting to a thousand!
What's mine is yours. Having lived a year in a student hostel I understood this phrase was the best to describe my first year student life. We shared everything: all of bright spots, all of difficult moments, all of the books and all of the cakes. My roommates are my best friends now and I trust them as I would myself. I believe amazing adventures and close friendship are waiting for us too! Also I believe, my dear roommate, you’ll get at least one new hobby living with me. I promise I’ll share to you with my frenzy for mountains. Oh, that’s really amazing! I’m a participant of the university tourist all around team(sports tourism university team member) and every weekend we get to go to incredibly picturesque places of Zailiyskiy Alatau.
Traditions come and go, but some may never change. Most families attempt to keep their traditions alive in their family, whether is it be to do something small like names or something major such as huge celebrations for certain holidays. A tradition that numerous of families seems to keep around, no matter their religion or country, is family dinners on a set day. This allows the families to spend this day with each other, learning how everyone’s week is going, if there is anything that needs done, or if there is any positive or negative news.
Describe your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your field of study and your future goal. I think that I have done a little bit to get ready for my future. I have two things in mind that I want to do. I want to be a nurse or a Cosmetologist. I have taken my CNA and that is going to take me one step closer to being a nurse. For cosmetology I have job shadowed many people and I think that it will help me see if I really want to do that for my future. I am still very undecided to where I want to go and what I want my future to be like that or not. This is a very hard decision because I’m scared that I’m not going to make the right one. Yet for some of the achievements that I have done is that I have watched many kids before and
My greatest accomplishment thus far, has been getting high grades in college. Accomplishing this required: patience, dedication, tenacity, stamina, and confidence. It took patience because there were long hours that were dedicated to homework and studying. It took dedication because I had to continually tell myself that it would be worth it, even when it was difficult. It took tenacity because I knew that I couldn't accept anything less than my best. It took stamina because there were a lot of late nights and just a lot of time in general to complete everything that was required of me. Lastly, it took confidence because if I didn't believe that I could, it would have made it a million times harder.
To some, an achievement would mean an award or an accomplishment they could be proud of. An achievement for me goes beyond that idea. My biggest achievement is the positive contribution I gave to people in need around my neighborhood, and also the comfort I give to my parents because of my independence, which also helped me find my passion in life.
