In the periodical article, “South Africa: The Drug Trade's Bitter Taste," published by IRIN, a Kenyan-based news agency, states that South Africa is trying to reduce its issues, and that drugs correlate with crime rates in SA. The article supports this claim by detailing on a drug known as “tik”, or crystal methamphetamine. The drug causes aggressive behavior, which can last up to three or four hours, and is common in areas with high crime rates (South Africa: The Drug Trade's Bitter Taste). In addition, the article believes that certain drugs are used often by members of certain races. For example, it listed tik as a largely-used drug by the mixed raced population, while sugar, a mixture of cocaine and heroin, is used more by the Indian population (South Africa: The Drug Trade's Bitter Taste). Afterwards, the periodical states that one reason crime rates increase because of drugs is that people commit thievery in order to pay for their next hit. Towards the end of the text, the IRIN noted that while SA’s drug trade was parallel to its economic growth and disposable income, it’s also increased the amount of people in need of rehabilitation. The Institute for Security Studies’ Huebschle believes drug trade to be an international issue that needs every country’s help to reduce drug trade. SA’s police have

This article explores the different patterns on how children become bullies. Victims of bullying are repeatedly exposed to aggressive behavior ( Lereya, Samara & Wolke, 2013). This study involved both children and parents. The research was conducted to know why some children become bullies and others don’t. According to Lereya (2013), children’s family experiences and parenting behavior before entering school help shape their capacity to adapt and cope at school. It is important to identify how parenting styles and parent-child relationship are related to victimization in order to develop intervention programs to prevent or victimization in childhood and adolescence
The research topic of this study is how integrating technology into a middle school classroom effects student engagement and performance on assessments. Students that are currently in middle school have grown up with technology surrounding them their entire lives. When these students see technology as a part of their everyday life, it seems natural to include technology in their school work whenever possible. It is true that some schools lack the resources to allow classes to integrate technology as frequently as they would like, however, this study will look at the effect that technology has on engaging students in their lessons. This study will also explore if an increase in student engagement leads to improved achievement
