There were many differences and similarities in the movie and story versions of ransom of red chief. Example in the movie Bill and Sam never offer red chief candy but in the story they do. This might seem like a minor plot hole in the story but it is very noticeable. Another example would be how red chief was burning ants in the movie instead of throwing rocks at cats before Bill and Sam kidnap him. In the movie Bill and Sam never talk about where they are located but once again in the story they do mention that they are in the town of Summit witch is in Alabama. Both of these forms of entertainment are great but since the movie is based on the book you would think the movie would stay faithful to the original story which for the most part
Some things are different in the book and movie. Like Sunset Towers and Money in both versions. Sunset towers is luxurious in the book but a bad place to live downtown. The money the will was worth 200 million but in the movie it is worth 20 million. Another difference is that the Wexlers moved to Sunset Towers because they had no money, but in the book they moved because they had money. In the movie Jake Wexler is paying off his debt though they have money in the book. Jake Wexler is a
The novel and the movie share many similarities. The book and the novel share the same problems. A example johnny and pony run away since johnny killed bob.In both johnny gets injured badly and dies.
One way the story is different from the movie is that the story is very descriptive of characters and
Johnson. There are slight differences between the two, but the main plot remains the same, that of a town ruled by mayhem with a local ruffian loaded with guns not wanting the town to progress; a lawyer who realizes he will have to get rid of the ruffian not through law but through a gun and the rancher who helps him get rid of the ruffian going unrecognized. Switching now to the differences between the short story and the film, the first difference the reader is able to spot is how the short story begins as opposed to how the film begins. In the short story, the rancher is named Bert Barricune while in the film he is named Tom Doniphon. The film-opening scene begins with a long shot of a train arriving to the town of Shinbone, while the Marshal, Link Appleyard, waits at the train stop for Hallie and Senator Ransom to step out of the train. On the other hand, the short story starts right at the funeral scene, and it describes how not more than a dozen people showed up to Bert’s funeral. Both also differ in the way the lawyer, Ransom, arrives to the western town. In the film, Tom Doniphon brings Ransom’s passed out body into town in the back of a carriage, while in the short story Ransom limped into the Marshal’s office as Bert was being let out of a one-cell jail. Another difference is the duel scene, in the short story Ransom passed out and he wakes up to see Bert’s face, who
Both Kevin and Red Chief were boisterous characters in their stories. While Kevin and Red Chief may have some similarities they also have a large amount of differences. one of these differences is the fact that Kevin is a caring character while Red Chief is a violent character. An example from the movie Home Alone showing that Kevin is caring is the scene where he is talking to his neighbor telling him to call his son and make up with him (Home Alone). this shows that Kevin can be a kind person as well as a obstreperous person. He can be a nice person when he needs to be, unlike Red Chief. In the story Red Chief it says, “ I remembered that Red Chief had said I was to be burned at the stake at dawn”(O’Henry 65). This evidence shows that Red Chief was willing to torture or kill Sam. He didn't care that he was hurting other people, physically and mentally, with his actions. There are also some similar character traits shared between the criminals in both stories. The antagonist in both stories could be described as greedy. In the story Ransom of Red Chief it states,” Bill and me figured that we could shake down Ebenezer for a ransom of two thousand dollars to the last cent”(O’Henry 62). This highlights the fact that bill and Sam wanted to get money from kidnapping Red Chief. They wanted an absurd amount of money from Ebenezer which caused them misfortune in the long run. In the movie Home Alone when the robbers try to steal things from the McCallister
In the movie, it starts in the middle of the scene. The person watching the movie does not understand what is going at the start of the movie without reading the book. The book seems more suspenseful than the movie because it helps you understand and visualize what is going on. The plot in the movie skipped a lot of significant scenes from the book such as when Huck saved Widow Douglas, Peter the cat and the pills, and the part where Tom and Becky forgive each other because Tom originally was dating Amy Yolman. Compared to the book, the movie changed a lot of scenes such as Huck following Injun Joe and his companion, which was a very suspenseful scene in the book because the reader did not know what was going to happen next, but in the movie the scene was very fast paced. This made the book more entertaining than the book because of the suspense shown better in the book than it is presented in the movie. Additionally, the plot in the book was more enticing because as the adventures reach the climax, the plot thickens and becomes more suspenseful which is not shown in the movie. The goals for these character were very different in the novel when compared to the movie. Huck's main goals in the novel were to change the way he is viewed by the society positively, and to get the treasure. On the other hand, in the movie Huck's goals were just to get the treasure and become a robber in Tom's gang. Huck's goals seemed more realistic in the novel. The ending of the movie was not cohesive, it didn't form a bond as well as the book did. In the movie, Huck and Tom never meet each other again because Huck and his accompaniment, a slave travel on a raft to explore new places. This ending was not linked as well as the books ending which was Tom convincing Huck to stay with Widow Douglas, and soon they would start their gang. In summary, these are some reasons why thy plot in the book is more entertaining than the plot in the
Foremost, it is very recognizable that the overall flow of the story is same, but most of the plot events are not the same. Though, there were same events happening in both novel and the movie. For example, in both
The plot and the setting of book and movie are very similar. There was a lot of thins borrowed from the book, but there was a lot changed as well. The movie followed the plot of book very closely and portrayed the setting of the book very well. A lot of the dialogue was borrowed and spoken directly as it was in the book.
The book and the film were both simular, and yet different in many ways. An example would be, in the film, Ponyboy was walking to the drive-in and meeting Cherri and Marcia. Although in the book, Ponyboy began his journey by telling the readers about his experience about being jumped by the Socs and being threatened. The director probably had some options to pick from to leave out from the movie, and the director chosed this to leave out. Leaving out the part where Ponyboy was jumped was an effective move because without the experience Ponyboy was lost and helpless because he did not know what to do when he and Johnny got cornered in the park by Bob and other Socs.
The book and movie are completely different. It 's like comparing apples and oranges. (I 'm assuming that you used the newest version with Guy Pierce). The biggest difference is probably the ommision of Haydee and Maximillien and Valentine (three of the main character) and the addition of Jacapo. Jacapo does is in the book, but he is never a large character.
The Story and The Movie of, Ransom of Red Chief were two different aspects. They had the same sequence, the same setting and the same characters. Also it was a couple things that was different, that happened in the story, but happened different in the movie. The things that happened in the story was the men had a buggy in the movie he had a car. Also in the story he fought back when the men tried to kidnap him.
Nonetheless, lots of significant scenes from the novel were not obtainable in the film version. Likewise, certain points that made the book very exciting to read, are missing in the movie. The first difference is Madam de Winter relationship between Mrs. Van Hopper training her to be a companion and she pays for her. In the film Madam de Winter is a painter and she labors a servant to Mrs. Van Hopper also, she is a very strict woman due to does not allow to Madam de Winter doing anything before she takes the permission from her. On the other hand, sequences of events, especially in the novel when the Colonel Julyan began the investigation with the rest, he excludes Ben from the investigation, then after a Fevel request from the Colonel Julyan for the investigation into Ben because Fevel thinks Ben Know him but Ben is a foolish and the irresponsible person.
The movie adaptation of the book kept many of the key commonalities found in the novel similar. One major event that was kept the same, was the fact that Billy had to
A minor difference between the movie and the book was concerning the scene about Sir Henry going to the moor. In the book he was pretty upset that people were trying to keep him from going there, but in the movie he showed the least bit of emotion. This was not a major impact on the story but it definitely added character to Sir Henry. In the movie Sir Henry was somewhat timid and in the book that scene showed he was not afraid to stand up for himself.
Normally, when a movie is made about a story in a book the two stories are not exactly the same. The movie is adjusted by adding small details or leaving out some parts in order to make the story more
