In Hawaii the marine life has been affected because of many tourist. Ever since tourist have came to hawaii the ocean has become very dangerous to the sea creatures in it. They have negatively affected the ocean in many ways such as polluting the ocean by throwing their plastics, and even oil spills that is occurring in areas from them.

Ocean pollution is caused by many things,plastic,humans, and oil spills, we are trying to stop this. So many people just put the plastic in the ocean and people are trying to stop them. Two billion people within 30 miles of the coast create 100m of coastal plastic waste. We can help by reducing plastic in waste stream, and try to stop pollution. Another way we can help is by recycling (Doc.1). We cause pollution to by dumping trash and garbage onto beaches. We have to help protect oceans by monitoring the water to see if people can go swimming (Doc.2). The oceans have to stay healthy because they are a habitat to animals (OI). Humans fish to survive and in doing so they will target specific species leading to overfishing. Sound pollution is causing issues with the wildlife of the ocean in how they communicate and move around. With human interaction comes trash which gets left in the ocean and affects many different species.

The oceans need to be protected because it is where life began and if not taken care of, life as we know it will end. The well-being of the ocean is constantly being threatened and needs to stop. On March 21st, our class went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The purpose of this trip was not only to explore Earth’s natural habitat’s, but it was also to gather information on our upcoming project and to gather information on how the community of St.Mary, affects the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The answer that we found out is one based off of what we eat. The Monterey Bay Aquarium released an app where it showed which type of seafood were lower in numbers than others. So, if plankton were very low in numbers, it is advised that we not fish for them or not eat as much of it. This shows based just off of what we eat, we can affect the numbers of in the ocean. Also, those plastic bags we buy at Target and Walmart, that we drop outside, drifts itself to the streams, which flow to rivers, which go to oceans, they are floating there, not doing much harm, until sea turtle comes by starts eating it, but gets tangled and choked in it, dies.

Over the years, climate change has affected marine species because it has increased the ocean temperature, causing it to get warmer, which is causing a negative impact to most marine organisms like echinoderms and cnidarians (Quinn, 2016). In many cases, the optimum temperature of growth increased 1-6°C, which created harmful effects on stages of development (Quinn, 2016). In some cases such as the American lobster (Homarus americanus), warming of the ocean had caused smaller body sizes (Le Bris et al., 2016). Even though there is some research that showed that the warm temperature could also benefit the lobster’s population, most of their population has declined in the warmest and southernmost regions of the lobster’s range in places like southern New England and Long Island Sound (Quinn, 2016).

The Ocean. Commonly known, as the big blue is one of the most ecologically diverse habitats on earth. It is home to 7000,000 million different species, all of which directly rely on the stability and natural habitats, which exist around the globe. In fact, over two thirds of the species living in the ocean are unknown (DNews). The industrial revolution changed the world for the better; the industrial revolution introduced hundreds of new products, which changed the way humans live. Throughout this paper we will discuss the causes and solutions to environmental degradation in the ocean.

Everything in this world we use comes from the ocean in some way. The air we breathe, the water we drink, even the products we use day to day, would not be possible without the ocean. That's why the issue of ocean pollution is so important and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. We depend on the ocean for so much in our life, without it we would surely become extinct. People seem to think that since the ocean is so large and vast, we can dump as much waste as we'd like into it and it will never have an effect on us. However, since we've been polluting the ocean as far back as Roman times, the evidence of ocean pollution becoming a major problem is all too clear.

One clear factor are runoffs.Clearly this is one major issue that needs to addressed since we keep having to address this issue whenever we discuss our oceans. Dangerous chemicals are reaching our water impacting the ecosystem at each level. Sea Otters were once near-extinction by the early 20th century due human hunting. Since then we have put in place numerous acts to prevent this from occurring. Although these changes helped bring populations numer back up we are witnessing a weather rapid decline once more in their population due to the number of kale farms decreasing. The reason for kale’s decrease seems to be the warming of our ocean seas. Both these issues are recurring whenever we discuss our ocean's decline.

The purpose of this report is to analyze the signs of climate change and its impact in Pacific region of the United States and discuss about the initiatives the United States are taking to become resilient. Climate change is a difference in the usual weather patterns and is among the most significant problems society faces [1]. It is typically categorized as environmental disasters such as hurricanes, sea-level rise, and heat waves. Overall, climate change is impacting human health, the economy, and ecological aspects in the Pacific region of the U.S. [2].

While a beautiful sunset on the beach can be astounding, a spectacular scene is not the only benefit oceans provide. Without the oceans, we would not have adequate amounts of oxygen to breathe or enough protein to eat. The Earth's climate would not be inhabitable for human beings and many animals. The oceans supply medicines, food and drinking water which arise from ocean processes. Out of the five oceans, the Pacific Ocean is the world’s largest and deepest ocean. It spreads over an area of 165.2 million square kilometers. More than 25,000 islands float within the Pacific. Within the Pacific Ocean lies an unusual island, an island that is more than twice the size of Texas and is earth’s largest landfill, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch

Easterly trade winds, can filter and transform into westerlies. Thus, allowing great masses of warm water to flow from the western Pacific toward the Americas. This then can reduce the upwelling of cooler, nutrient-rich waters from the ocean and shut down or reverse it completely. Overall, El Nino alters ocean life by reducing the fish populations along the eastern Pacific shores and it does this in a couple distinctive ways. As El Nino weakens upwelling of cool nutrient-rich water to the ocean surface, the amount of phytoplankton decreases.
