Let the sunken be sunk. I think the Titanic is a historic gravesite. It more than likely would collapse while bringing it up. Sea life has adapted to the 100 year old ship. I think the Titanic should be left alone because it is a gravesite. Bringing up the Titanic is disturbing, this is people's resting place. 1,503 people have been disintegrating for about 105 years. Some people would consider it grave-digging, this is where those people were last. I think the Titanic should be left alone, because it can collapse while bringing it up. The Titanic is so far down in the Atlantic Ocean; there is so much pressure. The White Starline ,the creator of the Titanic, is rebuilding the "Ship of Dreams", so why would
Have you ever wondered about shipwrecks? Probably at some point in your life you have. What about the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald? It was the worst and fastest shipwreck in Great Lakes history. The sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald has a significant story and a significant history behind it, and it’s unfortunate the ship and her crew members aren’t here today.
My opinion the confederate flag and confederate statues must come down it shows disrespect to the blacks ,the past is the past it must go before it creates problems in the future between people who are against it and who are with it.
The Titanic was a ship that sunk during its maiden voyage in 1912. This big ship was on it’s way to New York when it struck an iceberg. It was believed to be “unsinkable” but that night it met it’s fate and sunk killing many passengers. As the story goes they say it’s the icebergs fault for the sinking of the ship. When in reality, the White Star Line was truly at fault for the sinking of the Titanic. They are responsible for this tragedy because they went full speed after ignoring six ice warnings. Not only that but they should've thought of the consequences when they decided to take off lifeboats for more room for luxury items. Then they weren’t prepared and never had any drills or safety procedures for if the ship were to sink.
All those deaths left behind them mourning family members who demand that wrecks be left as undisturbed graves. An experienced diver once claimed that hunting through a shipwreck was like walking through a haunted house. You can sense the presence of those who sank with the ship and have nothing to identify their lost remains. This is why the shipwreck are primarily their graveyard and not a place for treasure hunts. They should be left in peace. Ships like the Nuestra Senora de la Mercedes which sank near the coast of Tampa bay, killing over 200 crews members, should be protected by some regulation. For the respect of those who died serving their country, even if the ship contains half a billion dollars worth of sunken treasure.
The battle about what to do with the Confederate monuments is not new. Unless we figure out how to honor infamous events in way that does not glorify them, we as a country will continue the long and complicated debate. There are many perspectives, but the four biggest are to leave them up, take them down, put them in museums, and learn more about them before making a permanent decision. Right now, the United States seems to be taking the side of forming a more educated decision, although some cities, like Charlottesville, have been making the decision of taking them down. The United States is a very undivided nation, which makes it difficult to come up with a solution, especially because it is impossible to make everyone happy.
- Booking passage on perhaps the most famous ship in history, the HMS Titanic sails once again for visitors. At the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, interactive experiences pay homage to the Grand Staircase design, encourage trips to the captain's bridge and provide a real life iceberg for the family to touch.
The Titanic tragedy was not a very happy event, but I am here to share my opinion on the causes of the sinking of it.
Are moral standards in the eye of the beholder? According to one author, “we’ve seriously lost our way”, going on to state, “we are like mean adrift at sea without a compass” (Hulme). In literature as in biology, the mantra of form fits function applies and heightens a reader’s appreciation of a writer’s choice and how they contribute to a work of literature. In Tim O’Brien’s collection of short stories, The Things They Carried, the narrative, the experience of reading and the alternating Vietnam and modern day settings not only shape the author’s world view, but reflect upon his own experiences in the 1960’s and 1970’s war. The short stories within
Within the past year there has been a controversy between the confederate monuments staying up or coming down. For some reason many people suddenly want these historical monuments to come down. Even though there was not a big fuss about it before, now that Donald Trump has been elected many people seem to have a problem with these monuments that have been up for a numerous amount of decades. In New York Times, “Why Confederate Monuments Must Fall,” Karen Cox gives a brief explanatory story about why these monuments should come down, but in my opinion overall these monuments should stay up no matter what.
Relevance Statement: (Many of you have probably heard of the Titanic or even seen the movie but there is so many more details and facts that people are unaware of.)
The Titanic was separated into two different deck areas, one for the first class and a separate for the second class. The second-class were not allowed up to the first class decks; however, the first class dogs were brought down to go to the bathroom on the lower-class decks. The first class were catered to for their every need and second class were ignored and looked upon as garbage that was lucky to be aboard the ship.
If you want to know something scary there was a mummy hidden in a wealthy traveler’s car aboard the Titanic. It was said to be a mummy’s curse back when it was bough, but that didn’t stop the American typhoon from purchasing it and transferring it to a museum on the Titanic. Mysteriously in never arrived because of the fateful destruction of the Titanic. Nevertheless, none of these myths or conspiracy about the Titanic are deemed as true as JP Morgan using it to kill off his competition. For 73 years, the titanic could not be found, until discovered by an oceanographer named Dr. Robert Ballard. No sapphire diamond jewelry shaped like a heart were found, but difference in the described vessel didn’t match what was on the design plans. The conspiracy
Everyone has heard about the sinking of the Titanic. Lots of people have seen the movie, and even though the movie does not give specific information, it gives an idea of what happened that day. Researching the event of Titanic sinking is heartbreaking since so many people died. Because the sinking happened so long ago, about 104 years, it is starting to become irrelevant. People should still remember the people who passed away and what occurred on the event. After all, what occurred on 9/11 is still highly brought up and recognized every year and half the amount of people died on the Titanic and is hardly mentioned anymore. The Titanic sinking is an event that doesn’t even seem like a real event to many people. Schools should teach more about the Titanic in history class because it is a real event that happened, and completely opposite from the fake love story everyone has heard of. There is some evidence that the Titanic and another ship, the Olympic, were switched, but there is proof that the boat was indeed the Titanic. Neither the boat nor the people were switched, unfortunately, so the people who were on the boat, did pass away. The theory of the Titanic being switched with the Olympic has been debated quite a bit, but the ships were not switched.
The Titanic may be one of the most famous and well known shipwrecks of our time. Just about everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it was a complete accident. Information has been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows that the ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures showing different amounts of port holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is 100% true, but most would agree that all of this points to it being true.
I have been fascinated by the history of the Titanic for as long as I can remember.
