At least 104.2 million of these were sold as of January 6th, 2014, and they are Xbox. The owners and creators of the Xbox are Microsoft Incorporation. The brand also represents applications, streaming devices, and an online service. Then Phil Spencer became the head of Xbox in late March 2014. So far Xbox has come up with 3 different consoles that were released in the sixth, seventh, and eighth generations respectively.
Starting on November 13th, 2001, in North America, February 22, 2002, in Japan, and March 14, 2002, in Australia. It was the first video game console offered by an American company called the Xbox. Now Xbox has started competing with Sony’s PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii as the seventh generation of consoles. As of June 30th, 2013, 78.2 million consoles were sold, the console had sold out completely upon release in all the regions except Japan. When it comes to Xbox Live the 360 had expanded it. They had created a free tier of Xbox live called silver. Not just Xbox Live but Microsoft had also released a Kinect motion sensor for the console, which uses an advanced sensor system. At their E3 presentation on June 14, 2010, they had released a redesigned Xbox 360 that will be shipped on the same day. How they redesigned is that they made a slimmer model, 5 USB 2.0 ports, and a special port designed for the kinect peripheral. Since then the older models were discontinued. Also the first new console had a 250 GB hard drive, while the less expensive only had a 4GB hard drive. Also for games it was around 50% of the original Xbox library for backwards compatibility. If you didn’t know backwards compatibility is where you could play the games from an older generation console on the next generation.
November 22, 2013, in North America, the successor of the Xbox 360, the Xbox One competed with Sony’s PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Wii U as part as the eighth generation consoles. The Xbox One was released on May 21st, 2013, it now had a larger emphasis on the Internet based features. They had made a new Kinect for the console and they had added more voice commands. Microsoft had made it to were the games whether they were bought physically or digitally you had to download it. The owner could only share the game or games through the Xbox Live
