The car can also be a source of therapy and relaxation for many Americans. In the essay “America’s Key to Freedom” it reports that “The car offered downright Joy as well”3 with the automobile, parents or a frazzled worker could just hop in the car and go into the open road away from all the stress and anxiety. With the addition of cars also came a new thing, instant vacations, people could just hop in the car with their families and decide to go places that were not their homes, thus razing up tourism all around the world and at home.
Through my research question, I hope to learn whether electric vehicles make a big enough difference to help our environment. I also want to explore why we have not gone entirely electric and specific reasons as to why people are afraid of change. People find switching to an electric vehicle to be a huge lifestyle change.
Technology has brought many luxuries to people. The invention of the automobile has brought convenience to everyday living. People use their vehicles to commute to work, school, home, and other events. Some people cannot even imagine living life without the use of an automobile. People have different tastes in the type of automobile that they drive; the automotive industry has made several different ways to commute. The car and the sports utility vehicle seem to be the most common types. The sports utility vehicle is inferior to the car.
At the age of 17 all I could think about was having a car. However, I understood that owning a car, I would be required to have a job. This would allow me to pay for insurance, gas and maintenance issues. I also understood buying a car required me to have a driver license. After taking all the necessary steps to purchase my first car. The very first car I bought was a “lemon”.
In America, there is nearly one divorce approximately every 36 seconds (McKinley Family Law). In 2013, nearly 55,000 adolescents are placed in Juvenile Detention and the number is only increasing (Child Trends Data Bank). Jefferson Steelflex, a modern teenage poet, victim of a divorce between his parents and separation from his brother due to Juvenile Detention, depicts the strains and hardships that he has endured throughout his life by using a car. Through the obstacles he faced, he directly compares it to the car and how it faces accidents and gets “totaled” but in the end, “The car continues to drive” and endure the struggles it faces. In the contemptuous and scornful poem, “The Car Continues to Drive”, The author conveys the message that through struggles, one develops maturity and adapts for future hindrances. The message is illustrated through the use of multiple poetic devices such as symbolism, repetition, and imagery.
In the year 2000, approximately 474 out of 1,000 people have cars, therefore when someone asks if cars are truly needed, many people listen. The question in today’s world is, “Are cars really a good thing for Americans?” To answer this question, cars are truly needed in America because many Americans need cars to get to and from businesses, the car gives a new level of freedom to Americans, and cars give many Americans a job.
To begin, the car offers freedom to everyone so people can travel whenever and wherever they want. There no longer is reliability on train and bus schedules to tell you where you can go and what time. There is mobility anytime we want it, we can jump in the car and go where we want. The cars are essential to modern day because if we didn’t have cars then it would be like losing our freedom as said in, “Cars Now and Forever”.
Electric cars vary from the average car you see on a day-to-day basis, this specific type of car is starting to make more appearances in the world due to their efficiency to the atmosphere. What makes an electric car stand out is that they are propelled and powered by an electric motor. The way this specific type of car functions is that it uses electrical energy that is stored in rechargeable batteries either under the hood or in the truck. What makes electric cars unique is the level of silent while being driven on the road rather than your standard gasoline engines. Of course, with everything, there will be a downside to it. Recharging an electric car can take a long time, sometimes up to hours which is an enormous difference than filling
We invest an awesome measure of energy in our autos. Regardless of whether it's moving the children to and from school, heading off to the market or meeting your companions for a supper party.
Cars need to be central in our lives, because without them we couldn’t do much. Without a car you would have to live in walking distance from your job. Also you have to live in walking distance of a grocery store or you can’t have food or snacks in your home. You are also stuck inside the city you live and if you don’t have a car it’s hard to go different places.
Many Americans live in suburbs or rural areas, and those places require cars for daily life. They have to drive everywhere because everything is too far away, and public transportation is not common in those areas. I live in the city, so everything is always close by. I don’t need a car to get around either, because I can always take a train or a bus. I also don’t live in a big house, so my gas heating, water, and electricity use is not too high. Compared to a third world country, my footprint may be a bit higher. I have access to running water, electricity, and gas, while many people in third world countries don’t. I’m much more fortunate than some people since I live in a first world country, but we have to remember that certain luxuries, particularly those involving the environment, can be detrimental to our futures later
Tina followed the man's car and told the dispatcher exactly what was going on. She relayed the license plate number and the type of car. In fear, she begged the dispatcher to get the police there.
The urge to be surrounded by cars started early in my life. Every saturday night I was in the stands watching my dad and great uncle race around the track fighting for a win. The thunder of the cars flying by, the smell of burning alcohol and hot mud. What little boy wouldn’t think that was the coolest thing to do on a saturday night. Early on my life was revolving around cars and engines. Even from before I spit out my first word, the itch to be a car nut got to me.
Explanation- The sentence is written in the wrong order. If you write it this way then we don’t know who’s walking down the street. It also wouldn’t make sense that you are in a car and also walking down the street. So if you wanted to show that you saw someone walking down the street from your car you would have to correct the sentence.
Since I was a child, I have always dreamed I could have a car which belongs to me. I still remembered when I was four years old, my parents gave me a remote control car as my birthday gift. After that day I started to fall in love with cars.
