What It Means To Understand The Purpose Of Life

The Bible tells us that man was newborns, children, and adults are all here by the grace of God. Yes, as humans we add meaning and purpose to our life. However, our main purpose from day one is to worship him. (126)

We would be destined to follow a specific path and would not be truly conscious of each and every decision we are making. Having one true purpose in life puts people at ease when there are moments in where their lives are not going as positively as they had planned. In these times of grief, sadness, and difficulty, they could blame it on fate or claim that “everything happens for a reason” to alleviate their minds from the dreadful truth that they cause their own downfalls. Knowing that one’s worst problems in life occur because of their own choices may seem like the worse situation of the two, but this would also mean that one’s life could be as wonderful and fulfilling as they want it to be. Rather than waiting around for faith and fate to intervene, one could just go out and make the changes necessary to make their life better.

The Christian world view on life meaning and purpose is basic and yet different from other world views. Our main resolution in life is to work for God and have a strong connection with him at all times. First and foremost God desires to come first, and all else will tumble into place as long as we believe in him and have complete faith in him also. What is the purpose of human life? Who are we? and Is reality real? All questions that have been asked at least once in each humans lifetime. Metaphysical questions such as these are important to ask because they’re so complex that most humans are convinced that they are unable to answer them or are convinced that these questions are ones that are absolutely impossible to answer. As humans, we grow up questioning the reality around us and we are led to believe that we will never have an answer for the metaphysical questions mentioned. The importance of asking and answering these questions is because they could define just who we are and what our purpose may be.
