What makes a good man? Some may view a great man as one who does what he or she say they are going to do. Others may point to a person who is more strict on their people and doesn't let the power over go their head. Yet others may bring up someone who is very harsh, and very rude to their people. Although there are many different definitions of a good man, In William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, it is evident that Caesar is the better man because of the military power he brought, loyal or honorable, and didn't want to accept the crown three times in a role. “I love the name of honor, more than I fear death,” a quote said by one of the most famous Roman leaders named Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar was born in July 100 BC and he died on March 15, 44B.C. Caesar was a general, politician, and a dictator. Caesar was loved by many people for guiding them and providing safety for them, but he was also hated by a countless number of people. That hate ended up in him being murdered. He gave Rome hope for a better future and a promise of new land, jobs, and wealth. Caesar accomplished many things for his country like win many victories, developed the Julian calendar, and redistributed land to the poor. Julius Caesar was a man the people of Rome loved. He brought Rome prosperity, happiness, and power by ruling Rome in a way that had never been done before. He put the corrupt senators of Rome in a position where they could no longer pull Rome down to benefit themselves, and he made sure that he ruled Rome fairly and correctly, and for this, Rome loved Caesar. This is proven in the article “Killing Julius Caesar” by Jon Herman.
Power is abused with egotistical people. On the other hand, noble people tend to get blamed for abusing power, and the outcome is usually not favorable. This is what happened particularly in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, a play written by William Shakespeare. Julius Caesar was becoming the leader of ancient Rome, and a group of greedy men murdered him and took away his chance of becoming a valuable leader. One of Julius Caesar’s best friends, named Marcus Brutus, betrayed him by being a part of this group; Brutus literally “stabbed his friend in the back.” Julius Caesar was a thoughtful man and he did not deserve to be murdered. Therefore, Julius Caesar was a good leader.
Honor and loyalty are the most important personal traits of a person, but it can also be the opposite depending how it is expressed. Honor means you keep your word , no matter what. It also means you do what is best for yourself and others around you. When somebody is honorable to you, you respect them , and trust them. Honorable people are also normally known as responsible and likable. In some cases, people think they are doing what is honorable, but really they are not.

Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar is full of characters distinguished by honorability or corruption. Honor is awarded by high respect, admiration, and acclamation. Those who are corrupt display dishonesty, alteration of the truth, and immoral behavior. Although there are many honorable characters in Julius Caesar, one is more prominent that the others. Mark Antony is by far the most honorable character because he stands up for what he believes in, will risk everything for the right cause, and is noble to Caesar even after he is gone.

As you read Julius Caesar you get to know the characters better and better. Like you start to understand that Cassius is way wrong with the whole plan to kill Caesar, and that Brutus should not have listened to him, but that we are talking about Brutus let me just say some things about him. Brutus was a fellow friend of Caesar but the problem was is that he started to listen to Cassius a fellow traitor of Caesar but used to be his friend a long time ago, in the story when Cassius and Brutus met on the day when Caesar has come from his conquest from Pompay Cassius told Brutus stories of how Caesar was a little girl and that he got cold for just falling in to the river and how he cried for help and Cassius helped him but he was a shamed of having such a little girl of a leader. To say the truth Brutus was not that bad of a person, he was a very good friend with Caesar, I bet he would have helped Caesar with anything, but the things changed and Cassius persuaded Brutus that Caesar was a

John Maxwell once said, “People buy into the leader before they buy into the vision.” What is a leader? A leader is one who knows the way, shows the way, and goes the way. Qualities of a good leader require courage, charisma, strength, knowledge and wisdom, good morals and power. All of these qualities of leadership boil down to what is known as integrity. Integrity is doing what is morally correct; it requires honesty, making the “right” decisions for the community, taking the blame, and being selfless. A good leader should possess all these qualities in order to be capable of leading and gaining respect from others. Cassius was set at such a high place of being a leader, but Brutus proved he would’ve been a better fit for the title.
