Through the years of all the generations consoles Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation both prove to be, arguably, number one. The flames of the console war since the release of the latest generation of consoles back in 2013 have been set ablaze by fans and gamers alike. Microsoft had a weak start with the Xbox One and with nonstop updates and quick releases they crushed their competition. What exactly makes Xbox better?
To start off Xbox has backwards compatibility. This means that the new console, the Xbox one, can play games from the old console, the Xbox 360. This is a vital feature so there can be less clutter and no effort of having to switch inputs. While it can play select games from the 360, the One cannot play original Xbox games

“The PS4, for instance, has a larger and faster graphics processing unit than the Xbox One (its peak GPU shader throughput hits 1.84 teraflops per second while the Xbox One manages 1.31). Likewise, Sony's console has more advanced RAM (5500MHz GDDR5 versus the Xbox One's 2133MHz DDR3)” (Leaño). This allows the PS4 to run the games at just a hair higher quality. Not a big deal overall as the difference is not noticeable unless you put them side by side. On top of that, the One has a far more intuitive Operating System (OS) than the PS4. The OS on the One allows it to run apps in the background or use the snap feature on most apps to have it alongside your game or current window. How is this useful? First of all, you can use the snap feature to watch your favorite shows or have a GameFAQs page open on the side. Want to Skype your friends or play music in the background? No problem, because the Xbox can multitask and will leave those apps running back there! Your multitasking options are wide open and simpler than ever now that you can do it all without leaving the …show more content…
Share Play is the ability to let another PS4 user take over your controller, watch your screen, or take over another controller. This could allow a friend to play beside you on an offline fighting game, such as Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and Tekken, or help you on a part you are stuck on in a game. Microsoft makes up in this area with a much better game DVR than the PS4. The Xbox can record up to the last five minutes and constantly keeps record of the last five minutes, so you can quickly shout “Xbox record that” and it will save the last 30 seconds capturing that perfect Snipletaneous shot while playing Halo or that crazy stunt you did with your friends in Grand Theft Auto. The PS4 only starts recording when you double tap the share button likely leaving you with plenty of those “I wish I would have recorded” moments. The Xbox game DVR also has its own social network built in with the Xbox Live account. In Microsoft’s Upload Studio “it can splice together recordings to run for up to 30 minutes, drop in text overlays and toss in tons of new effects and transitions including many styled for games like Forza Horizon, Halo and Call of Duty. The biggest change, however, may be the ability for players use the Kinect camera to drop themselves into the video, using green screen effects without the need for an actual green screen backdrop”
Xbox One and PS4 are promising lots of entertainment options that will let you watch movies and listen to music on your console, as well as playing games. They both have deals with video-on-demand providers like LoveFilm and Netflix, and there will be "free" TV services like YouTube, iPlayer and 4oD.
People think that playstation is better than xbox. Some people believe this because it is slimmer and it has exclusive playstation only games. These people are wrong because xbox is cheaper and has some computer games and they are adding more. Plus, they are as cheap as on the computer. Also, xbox has a better graphics card.
The interface for the Xbox one is excellent because of how organised it is. On the Xbox you can easily find your games, social media, and the store. The Xbox one when you go from one app to another you hear a nice calm whooshing sound that isn’t annoying or can get stuck in your head. That is the exact opposite with the Playstation the sound is a bloop it is very annoying and it can get stuck in your head. Another great feature is the keyboard on the Xbox one it is very easy access. The keyboard on
The Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 are the most popular gaming systems in today’s market. Sony and Microsoft try everything to meet the needs of the consumer and get people to buy their product. In doing so they design them to meet today’s society while also staying fairly similar with the previous models. Since the hardware is very similar, the accessories and add-ons play a huge role in determining if the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 is superior.
First Xbox, let’s look at the design and user interface. The Xbox is huge way bigger than the PS4. On the top half of the the console is a vent which means if you want to put something on top of it forget about it. Towards the backside of the Xbox is three USB ports, but only two are for controllers. The controller ports are in the back are very awkward because there usually in the front. The Xbox runs off a Windows 10 UI (User Interface) which makes the home screen more complex and harder to find things but very nice looking. Now let’s look at the exclusive titles for the Xbox. Some titles include Halo, Gears of War, Titanfall, and Sunset Overdrive. These titles are huge but since the Xbox runs off of a windows 10 UI that means some games can also be played on the PC.
The PS4’s DualShock 4 controller is the more innovative controller, featuring a clickable touchpad and LED light bar in the top that can display a player’s in-game status, usually by changing colour depending on amount of health left, and can also be used with the PlayStation Camera for motion control. The DualShock 4 also has a curvier body with the shoulder buttons and bumpers sitting more comfortably at the top and the Face button have been increased in size when compared with the previous generation controller. The Xbox controller has been considered by many, including myself, to be the gold standard of gaming, with the D-pad and left thumb stick trading places so the thumb stick is in the more optimal position, but Microsoft have revamped it for the One by improving the feel of the sticks and changing the D-pad so it’s no longer all attached on one large circle of plastic making the directions stand out more clearly.
Xbox-360? I will explain the reasons I believe that an Xbox-one is worth the price difference so please keep
The standard console includes a five-hundred gigabyte hard drive. A hard drive with that capacity is more than enough storage space for any average gamer or family. The Xbox One also includes a built in DVD and Blu-Ray player for any movie one may want to watch. The Kinect, which is included with the purchase of a standard console, is a vital element to the Xbox One’s success. The Kinect is a piece of hardware that has a built in camera and microphone.
Xbox has many more features than other consoles. In many different ways it can be cheaper than let's say the PS4. The Xbox is very easy to learn about how to use it. Many people use it to just watch movies or Netflix. Many apps are free on Xbox and if some cost money, then they will have a free trial! There are different platforms that you can play Xbox on. Xbox also has many more games you can play right now! Also more are being added every day. There are so many reasons why Xbox is clearly better.
Although there are exclusives on each system, there are also excellent multiplayer games that are present on both consoles. A big one is Destiny. Destiny came out with a riduclous amount of hype and has mostly satisfied gamers. If nothing else, it is just a really fun game to play online and with friends. It is not a flawless game, but that does not mean that it is not extremely fun to play. Another big one is Borderlands: The Handsome Collection which is includes Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The
The XBOX is now a 6th generation video game console that is manufactured by Microsoft. The machine itself was released in November of 2001, just in time for the 2001 Holiday Season in the United States, then subsequently worldwide. The decision to manufacture and release the system was Microsoft's first plunge into the gaming console market and designed to compete with the Sony PlayStation 2, Nintendo's GameCUbe, and Sega's Dreamcast. By November of 2002, Microsoft launched the Xbox Live service that allowed players to play interactive games online (Gamer's Catch, 2006). Looking at the evolution of the system, however, we now know that the Xbox began to be discontinued in late 2005 (in Japan) and then in early 2007 in North America. The last game was released in August 2007, and even support for out-of-warranty consoles was discontinued in 2009, with all new faulty consoles replaced with Xbox 360. Xbox Live support was discontinued in April 2010 (Whitten, 2010).
In terms of the product itself, Xbox One has many features that it can use to its advantage in distinguishing itself from other gaming systems, as well aiding its ability to attract many customers. For example, the Xbox has many apps such as Netflix, Google, and ESPN, which the console owner can use whenever they want (even during the middle of a gaming session). Cable and Satellite television services can even be connected through the Xbox in order to enhance the consumers’ experiences and to create an all in one system. Additionally, the Xbox brand is known for many of the great games only offered with the Xbox experience, making it a more alluring choice.
The Xbox One, being one top competitors in the gaming console industry has many features that differ from other gaming consoles. One main feature is the Xbox Live which is an online service for the Xbox console allowing an individual
Microsoft Xbox is a company that makes games, gaming systems and accessories. The use of these systems has risen dramatically over the years and the people that use them are always looking for a new great game or accessory to go with it. Also, Microsoft Xbox has launched the new Xbox 360 Elite, the most elite gaming system available today. Back in November 2005, when Xbox 360 first hit the shelves, it was just the beginning. Although the console itself has not changed, the number of games available for it has risen exponentially. You can also play many regular Xbox games, designed for the first Xbox, that have backward compatibility with Xbox 360. More than 200 Xbox games work well on Xbox 360. That
In conclusion, both consoles have their pros and cons and both are great for gaming, but in an overall viewpoint only one console strides over the other and that is the PlayStation 4. While numerous Xbox One users will remain to disagree with me, though, the truth is that, the PlayStation 4 is beyond superior when compared to the Xbox One; in overall speculations and in high performance
