What matters to Consumers?
Today, the differences in Macintosh computers and personal computers are smaller, but still important. In fact, you can do everything on a Mac that you can do on a PC and vice versa. It is more about how much you want to pay and what you will get in return. By looking at options based on quality, capability, and price, we will see what consumers need. Choice and options are driving factors for modern day consumers looking to buy a new computer.
The needs and wants for the consumers are very important. Consumers are becoming more conscious about their needs and wants when it comes to computers. Former C.E.O Steve Jobs focused on building a company of products

As you can see in the specifications of quality, there are comparable options for both Mac and PC.
Consumers want to know one thing, and that is how well does the computer function. . With both Laptops running an i7 core processor, which is the component used to determine computing speeds and a separate operating system where the details begin to differ (Coppock). Although the processors are the same, the mac loads programs and runs faster due to its operating system that will borrow space from the hard drive to broaden its random access memory or RAM to run seamlessley (Coppock). This is something the PC cannot do (Coppock). The technology Macintosh has developed allows the laptop to conserve its energy drain on the battery. While both laptops have a different operating system, if the operator is not familiar with Mac OS, any version of windows operating system can be loaded on a Mac (Coppock). Although this would make the Mac lose certain unique properties. The HP cannot use Mac OS due to small differences in power rating, and RAM differential, but the HP has the option to use its screen in 4k HD (Coppock). Which is 4 times the definition visually of the 1080 HD capability of the Mac (Coppock). Coppock says The MacBook Pro is definitely the faster performer and will crunch through massive images and videos significantly more quickly than the
In today’s society, consumers are looking for a product that is willing to do it all. A product must fit both professional and personal needs. There are many products out there but three of the most common include, Apple’s Macbook Pro, Apple’s Iphone 6, and Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3. All three of these devices have their advantages and disadvantages, but the one I feel is the greatest buy is the Mac Book Pro by Apple. It is important to compare the similarities and difference of all three of the popular devices.
Most of the people see Apple computers as “fancy expensive toys” but in fact they are beautiful and powerful tools. I have used both, in fact I started using Windows and of course being basically a monopoly everybody was forced to use windows by those days. The first version of windows I ever use was Windows 3.1 and despite almost every new version (except by ME and Vista) was in some ways improved it never reached the performance and stability of a OSX system. Lot of “ hardware connoisseurs” can say wait a minute! Apple computers have better hardware, but this was true until some years ago. Nowadays, most of PCs have similar or even more powerful hardware.
Another consequence of Apple’s unwillingness to allow other manufacturers to produce Macintosh computers is a limited selection along with the prohibitive unavailability of the Macintosh. There are only a few distinct models of computers made by Apple, and each of them can only be found at Apple’s store or on their website.
The Macintosh Portable was introduced in 1989 and by design was built to be just as powerful the its desktop version but at a weight of 17 pounds which can’t compare to the MacBookPro that I am writing this paper on right now. After the Macintosh Portable, Apple introduced the PowerBook in 1991. That same year, Apple introduced System 7, which was a major upgrade in the operating system that added color to the interface and added the ability for networking. The operating systems architecture remained the same until 2001.
Yes, I was one of those PC people and I listened to you brag about Mac’s and iPhones. Well it took me several years. I thought you were right on everything but one thing. Mac, now way. Today, Mac all the way. This just proves it, you are right! Right on
This, of course, means competition, which in turn lowers prices. Macintosh systems are sold primarily sold in whole systems which are composed of RAM and processor speed, meaning that the consumer ends up with what Apple has decided should be included in the system. Windows systems, however, can be built to the consumer needs, or by the consumer themselves. They could select which part would be best for them for the price they would pay for it.
2. Reliability: Macs only run on Apple computers, and are thus less prone to hardware and software crashing.
Recently, Mac switched its central processing unit (CPU) to Intel creating a new competitive platform between the Macs and the PCs. Since the processors are now the same, the argument is: Macs are better than PCs as they can run their own operating system OS X as well as Microsoft’s operating systems XP &
There is a point in ones life where they are confronted with the arduous task of deciding what computer is best for them, this decision process is usually decided on a few factors which are price, reliability, security, storage space and of course the computers speed. In today’s economy buying a machine of value that works is hard to come by but one company has it figured out; it is time to invest in Apple computer. Apple is a company that was founded in 1976 by Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs, and Ron Wayne in the hopes of making the PC personal again. The Apple revolution began in 1984 when Macintosh was introduced.
Whoever said money can’t buy happiness? Today, the argument can be made that happiness and consumerism are directly linked. It is fair to say that happiness is a relative term for different people. However, the obtaining of new and shiny things has become such a part of everyday life, that it provides happiness when people are purchasing something new, and causes sadness when no buying is taking place. For many, it seems to be a protective coating against the harsh realities of everyday stresses from a job, or family life.
When shopping for a computer, one can look at the cost and compare it to other models. For instance, individuals usually have less to spend than organizations. The HP Envy model is adequate for companies looking for greater processing power (Intel Turbo Boost) (“HP Pavilion HPE,” 2011). The Dell Studio model is a little expensive; however, this model is adequate for small business and organizations. Similarly, the HP Companies looking for attractiveness will find the MacBook’s unique design quite appealing. Overall, these three models range in price from $649.99 to $1300.00, they are high end products known for quality and
For those of you who are huge fans of HP laptops, you need to hear this. On April 5, the company unveiled their newest device: The Spectre. With what is known about this laptop, it can be safely said that it will be on par with the Macbook Air. The HP laptop will boast some very similar features as the Apple Macbook. This includes the size, the battery life, and the resolution.
Of course, the reality in terms of the pros and cons between these two devices is considerably different in the 'real world.' Perhaps the most notable distinction between the PC versus the Mac for the average consumer is the cost. It is perfectly possible to find a decent PC laptop or for $500 or so. But "if you walk into an Apple Store with $500, you're still $100 shy of a Mac mini" (Kommando 2012). Apple products are considerably more expensive than their non-Apple counterparts. Apple brands itself upon its style and social cache, not its affordable price. One reason that Apple can charge more than its PC counterparts is undeniably its sleek, minimalist style." If you want a space-saving all-in-one desktop -- and actually want to look at it all day -- the iMac is the only choice" (Kommando 2012). Macs are more
Having more choices can benefit people in two ways. Firstly, people with high demand of tastes and needs, more choices will satisfy their specific wants and needs (George, 2012). In situations where different people have different taste in a particular product or service, people might need a wider range of varieties and information of the products to choose from before they can make up their mind (Huber, Kirchler and Sutter, 2008). For example, Apple Inc. the American multinational technology company, offers a variety of types and specifications of computers to satisfy their customers of all ranges in the corporate and commercial market. Laptop that are light weight are catered to customers who carry laptops around on daily basis and are suitable for travelling. For the corporate market, mid-range specification
Just as you cannot judge a book by its cover, you cannot do the same when it comes to a computer. Both, Apple and Microsoft, have their very own separate operating windows. For Apple it is Mac for short. For Microsoft, it is called Windows. Both provide the same function, the ability to give commands and operate a computer. The difference between these two is that Mac is much known for its great coded scripts in its operating
