While their were some positive aspects to the Crusades their were many negative. To join the Crusades it was a high cost. Soldiers had to leave their homes in groups and had to pay for anything they needed along their journey. The amount of money they would have to pay was an amount that most cannot Afford. Some people had to sell many of they things such as land and personal items. The wealthier people and the Church used taxes which they raised to help them get money and make a bigger hardship for the poor.
