The one question almost every young child or teenager asks themselves is, “What do I want to be when I’m older?” For many, the question remains unanswered, but for the ones who have researched careers, they may already know. Everyone has different interests; therefore, everybody will most likely want to do a different career. In life, people don’t normally end up working with their friends from high school or college; they branch off into their careers and may never really talk to them again. People do not choose careers from what their friends want to do. People choose from their interests in life, so researching careers is important when finding a job. 14). Physical activity is one way that athletic trainers use to help their patient’s recovery from injuries and/or diseases (“Athletic Trainers” para. 1). After a patient’s recovery, an athletic trainer decides if an athlete is ready to begin participating in sports or competition (“Athletic Training” para. 2). Furthermore, demanding physical activity and exposure to the weather and polluted air are some working conditions an athletic trainer might face (“Athletic Trainer’ What’s para. 4). Colleges and universities are the main place of employment for athletic trainers; however, a physician’ office or a professional sports team will hire an athletic trainer as well (“Athletic Trainers” para. 4). If an athletic trainer is employed at a college, he or she may teach athletic training classes in addition to going with the team to sporting events (“Athletic Training” para. 7). When an athletic trainer works beneath a licensed physician the athletic trainer does follow-up care to the patient (“Athletic Training” para. 1). Furthermore, an athletic trainer that works for a professional sports team would work year-round (“Athletic Training” para. 8). Working full time or traveling with an athletic association is common for most athletic trainers (“Athletic Trainers” para. 21).
