When deciding to purchase a computer you need to make a decision. Do you want to build your own, or do you want to buy one that is already assembled? I will be explaining some pros and cons along with the risks of each choice and helping you decide which option is the best for you. Building a computer yourself has some risk involved with the reward. Most of the time if you decide to build a computer it will be cheaper than buying one built, which sounds great because you’re saving money. While doing this there are some possible consequences you may run into. Building a computer requires you to purchase the parts and assemble it yourself. When ordering parts you need to be sure you’re getting the right ones. An example could be that you got a good amount of RAM but you later realize that your motherboard doesn’t support it. When buying a computer pre-built you wouldn’t have to worry about these issues. Another issue concerning building a computer can be inexperience. One disadvantage is customization. With building your own computer you get to decide what goes into it and you can make it how you want it. On the other hand, buying a computer doesn’t give you as many options. When you buy a computer it probably won’t have everything you wanted, it may be lacking a quiet cooling system, or it may not have as much hard drive space as you wanted. Another con is getting a nice computer is hard to find at a reasonable price. Most affordable computers aren’t built to the best of their ability. They usually contain cheap motherboards and other parts that can just barely run the computer which doesn’t give the user such a great experience.
