Work and Happiness When I was a young whippersnapper I would always think about being a firefighter, police officer, or a professional athlete. Some of the young dreams have fallen into reality and I know they may not come true or I have changed my mind. Many adults in the world have families they need to support and sacrifice many hours of the day to earn money even when they hate their job. Work takes up the majority of the day so it is a good way to end up hating the whole day just because people hate their job. Now that I am in high school and understand a little bit about the importance of money, I would like to have a job that has a high pay rather than being happy at work. Many people want a job that can make them happy and they
When I grow up I wanna work at mcdonalds and make happy meals for little kids. I wanna work at mcdonalds Because i will get free double cheese burgers and smell great fake meat all day. I'm am so excited to work at mcdonalds because they pay good and make good food.
I can remember the first hourly paid job I took back when I was 15 years old. I remember being so excited that I was going to have a way to earn some income, so that I would not have to rely on my parents for extra money. I grew up in an average household. My father worked as a tool grinder and made enough money for our family to live and for my mother to be a stay-at-home mom, but we definitely did not have extra money or have the finer things in life. My parents often struggled to pay the bills, but always managed, some how, some way. With that upbringing, I’m not sure that I ever really thought about jobs as much more that a way to earn money. So at a young age, my perspective of what motivated people who work was strictly money. Over the years I have had several jobs, but finally settled on a career in the medical field, or specifically the medical laboratory industry. I started off as a medical lab tech in the US Army and performed that task for 6-8 years. During that time I started to develop thoughts about being a supervisor, because I personally thought that I would do thing different than some of my supervisors. I worked with several people with very different backgrounds and had several supervisors, all with different leadership styles. I could also clearly see that very different things motivated my co-workers and me. Some were motivated by money, some were motivated by helping people, some were motivated by the respect they received from the supervisors
Growing up the main question a child is asked is, “What do you want to be when you grow up? “ , and most kids respond saying a doctor, lawyer, or a cop. In reality not everyone sticks to their first idea, and it’s slim that they actual start working in the chosen career. In my case, I have always wanted to work as a social worker or a therapist, but I realized it wasn’t in my budget. Therefore, I have decided; as well as, grew interest in being a dental assistant for a pediatric office.
I conceived that whatever I do in the future, it has to involve with helping other people. If I ask someone why they work and what makes them choose a career, most will say for to earn money. Money is essential for life; however, that is not the first goal of my life. I want to choose a career that gives me a sense of achievement. Every morning, I want to wake up excited to go to work with a passion and purpose, utilize my creative skill in working with hands, and help people in need.
After schooling and receiving an education many are then hired by a company or a corporation and begin to work under someone it is through this long route that many unknowingly lose sight of their dreams to only begin pushing towards the desires of the overseer at the top. The idea of being trapped or stuck in our society is a feeling one could wager that many have working all day and being obedient can cause one to quickly become morose but people rarely ever stop to ask why or question authority instead they give up their privileges and their rights because this is all they can do. If we were to conduct a random sampling of men and women over 25 to 40 one could wager that quite a few would probably dislike their current job or feel as if they had hit a dead end in their field. For me my current career goals are at a standstill I am unsure as to what I would like to do the idea of picking something and possibly doing that for the rest of my life is a very hard decision to make and although friends and family advise me to go into things like radiology or something in the medical field I remain
There are many many careers to choose from in this world. Not all are for me though. There are three careers that I would consider doing. The most unlikely one is to play football professionally. Second is be a sports PT. Lastly I would like to be a banker.
As we begin to grow up and come to the end of our high school career we must start to begin to start thinking about what type of career we want to be in. It is very important that a person picks the right type of career for them. Otherwise you will be unhappy with what you are doing and will not enjoy it at all. I am not entirely sure what I want my career to be but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it.
I used want to be a professional dancer or a dance teacher. Then it would be like hair stylist, a doctor, lawyer, house designer, or fashion designer. I would personally love to be a fashion designer but it's a very difficult career to get somewhere. You have to be very god and get noticed by someone famous, if you get noticed by someone famous then you most likely made it but it's very difficult to get there. Another career i am interested in is a lawyer. But in order to be a lawyer you have to be ready to speak in front of a lot of people and be comfortable and confident with it. I get stage fright so i'm not sure being a lawyer is right for me. But on the other hand i argue very well. I believe you should do a career that you love and enjoy because if you don't and you don't enjoy your career your just gonna be miserable. It is important to have a job the pays well but it is just as important to have a job you
“I feel sorry for the person who can't get genuinely excited about his work. Not only will he never be satisfied, but he will never achieve anything worthwhile” (Walter Chrysler). Deciding on what one wants to be in life can prove to be a demanding task. There are so many, yet limited, different opportunities in the world to have an excellent career and make a decent living while doing something one loves. It is limited because there are only a few specific career paths that someone could take to make good money. It is very difficult to make a fulfilling living being a garbage man. There are many different opportunities because, within these specific careers, there are usually various paths to take. Someone who has dreams to be a
Ever since elementary, we have been asked the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The question stayed the same throughout junior high and high school but the answers are constantly changing, at least they are in my case. I was that typical child, the one who dreamed of exploring space and all of its mysteries. However after trying to say quantum physics like a NASA scientist I soon decided that my exploration of that particular career came to a close. Around 7th grade, I was enrolled in a United States history class and enjoyed the studies of American politics and heritage. I soon set out to be the first female president, disregarding my financial standings as a broke-unemployed junior high teenager. This aspiration stuck
When I asked myself what I was I going to be when I got older, I had no answer. This made me realize that I had to make a decision and I had to make one fast. An area of study I have always been interested in is business. My dreams as a child have always been to become the President of The United States or an owner of a business. Working for a business would be intresting, but owning one would be more fulfilling. I would be able to expand my imagination by coming up with new ideas and control the company as a whole. I love designing and creating different things that make people happy, and if one day I became an owner of a company that produced products that satisfied people, that would make me happy. I soon came to the conclusion that in
Confucius once said “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I believe that he was onto something when he said this. I feel that when searching for your career path is important to find something you’re passionate about, something that fulfills you. This is why I have chosen to study to become a Medical Assistant. When I was a few years younger, I worked as a caregiver for the elderly. This was at times very tiring and heartbreaking work but at the end of the day it was so satisfying to go home knowing I had been able to bring others happiness and comfort. There is nothing like seeing the difference
As a young man entering my senior year of high school, my mind races as I try to figure out what it is that I’ll commit my life to. What will be the driving passion, the purpose of my existence, the reason I get out of bed every morning to face another day of this life? Some people would try to encourage me to choose a career simply for its potential to make me wealthy. However, looking at the degenerate lives of the rich and the famous around the world, its apparent to me that the pursuit of earthly riches alone isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. I’d rather spend my days in pursuit of something more fulfilling. As far as I can tell from my
All throughout school, students are ask what we want to be when we grow up. Many of us know or have a pretty good idea, but others have no clue what they want to pursue as a career in life, whether it be furthering their education at a university or attending a technical school. There are other students that plan to start work right out of high school. Either way we all have a plan, and the purpose of this paper is to inform you of mine. I personally struggle in making big decisions like deciding what to do with my life, but then I realized I have been asking myself the wrong questions. Instead of asking what I want to be when I grow up, I asked myself what do I want out of life? what are some of my goals that I wish to achieve? This led
Everyone must make a choice, once they reach a certain age, that will determine everything in their life. My dream job is to become an electrical engineer one day because I find interest in circuits and building electronic devices. When I was a young boy my dream not to be an electric engineer but something more along the lines of being a cook; however, that dream was short lived because my interest of being able to cook changed over as I got older and became interested in electronics. The way electronics work is simply amusing to me because I could not understand how the devices were operating, and honestly I still may not understand how these devices actually work. My backup plan for my future career would have to be becoming a
