I think that the qualities of a good movie are for one, having a good story to base it off of. I think this is important because if you don’t have a good main story then the movies just not good. I also think that putting a lot of different emotions in one movie is an important quality for a movie to have. One of my favorite movies is When the Game Stands Tall. This is one of my favorite movies because it has a really good story. In this movie it has a whole bunch of different moods throughout. It makes you happy, excited, but, it also makes you sad and mad at times. I think all good movies have the ability to do that to whoevers watching. I also think another quality that good movies have is to be able to relate to whoevers watching. I
“The most powerful way to reach an audience is through the characters' emotions” (Alderson). Sometimes a producer’s toughest job is to appeal to his or her audience to gain their interest in a film. Two of the movies we watched in class came to mind when I think of this. ‘Three Idiots’ along with ‘A Bronx Tale’ are fantastic examples of how a producer can reach the emotions of an audience. However, I felt that one film was more powerful than the other. Although ‘A Bronx tale’ is a well written story with talented actors, the feel for the viewer throughout the movie is almost a sort of low key melancholy as the drama unfolds. ‘A Bronx Tale’ deals with more complex issues such as the mafia, murder and even racism but the producer almost always gives us what we expect next. Conversely, the lower budget film ‘Three idiots’ with little know actors leads the audience through
Films are a large part of our lives here in America where we depend on them to do when we’re bored with nothing to do, or when the snow or rain is falling. We all use movies as a common way to go on dates and be with friends. However, there has become an abundance amount of movies that we can all enjoy throughout our lives. Although not all movies are interesting to all viewers depending on their personality and what they like to watch. I can say for myself that a film that I really enjoy would be “Mean Girls”. In the two thousand four film “Mean Girls” there is a sense of entertainment that helps in combining all the aspects found in a classical film. Classical films having a entertaining and dramatic plot, and a excellent cast.
One last thing I noticed in this movie that really appealed to me was the love story. The thing that I think really makes
Sports are a significant part of society and spectators enjoy particular events regardless of the type. However, there are many players who develop special working and social relationships with whom they are participating regardless of the type of sport. The relationship and how people interact with one another can be the determination of how successful a team can be. The particular film based on a true story that I chose is titled When the Game Stands Tall. This film consists of a high performing football team of De La Salle High School in the state of California. Jim Caviezel portrays the head coach (Bob Ladouceur) as a man with such vision and passion that goes beyond the fundamental principles of coaching the game of football. The football team had won 151 games without being defeated which is the highest winning record a team has had in the game of football. The film shows the internal struggles of the players in their lives as people, and how they perform on the field. It also shows the external tragic difficulties that they face while they attend and play for De Le Salle High School. In the movie, the head coach helps the students/players by not only coaching them but also showing them how to live a flourishing life by committing to endure difficult life situations and the way to overcome them. He helps teach the principles of brotherhood and companionship with the team that they build. In the movie, the head coach and the staff had taught the players
can relate to as a women and also can relate to the characters from the film.
All of the characters presented in the movie have a distinct personality, making the viewer engage deeply in the heart pumping action and drama.
What makes a film great to the viewer watching it? Is it the plot of the story? Maybe even the timing of the film? Possibly the special effects? The answer is all of it makes a movie great. You cannot just take in a few things to determine if the movie fulfills your standards of what makes a film good. There are a few things that really makes the movie Arrival stand out as one of the better films of 2016. I believe that Arrival is built on the foundation that all great movies have a relatable theme, show good acting, and brings out certain emotion that keeps us wanting more.
When a person reads a book they are entranced in the plot line. They have to comprehend and understand in order to finish the book and have it make sense. Movies can just be idly watched without gaining attention or intellect. Due to this, movies do not leave an impression.
Growing up my favorite movie of all time was the Wizard of Oz, and to this day I could watch it over and over again. I enjoy watching fantasies on our list such as beauty and the beast, supernatural, and the hulk. To me these movies and shows are a way to make myself, and others feel as though the characters can relate to all of our lives somehow. They make us feel as though we are not alone. And someone else is dealing with the same situation which makes me connect with them. Even if it is just for an hour or two it’s enough time to escape from my own word, and get lost in theirs. Whether it’s falling in love, hunting demons, ghosts, and monsters, or even being a giant green super hero .If you look deeper you’ll find a message behind each
Movies are meant to be relatable to most people and since social interactions are something that everyone is familiar with,
There are many different elements of film that filmmakers can utilize to make a film. Direction, storyline, cinematography, mise en scene, as well as point of view and tone can all lend a hand in making a film great. One might say that the most important aspect of a film is the script. Others might argue the actors are the most important part. However, an impressive balance of all of the different elements of film are what can elevate a film to greatness. That is why the best film viewed this semester is Night of the Living Dead.
There are three major standards through which I decide whether or not I will watch a film: reputation, and genre. Reputation is inclusive of friends and ratings of the film. Usually my friends and I have similar tastes and we are aroused or repulsed by the same films. Reputation is a strong and stable standard for deciding which film to go to, because with such a large population of movie watchers, major biases don't affect the reputation and ratings are fair and accurate. Also, people are inclined to give high ratings to movies that touch them or really make them think regardless
Every so often a movie is released with such tense anticipation and glamorous visual art that the public is drawn to this dramatic rendition of life in the theatre. For even just two hours or so, you are put into a different lifestyle. Action, drama or comedy it may be. We are thrust into a different way of thinking. We are forced to learn the characters thoughts and feelings. The hard work and artistic skill that goes into these magnificent films is not an easy thing to mimic. Out of the thousands of movies released worldwide each year only a handful are truly worthy of the label film art. Most of the great movies are either produced by a multi million dollar
I agree with people who say movies aren’t based on real life experience, but I am pretty sure producers have specific messages to tell their audience. Movies might be long and time taking, but when there is free time to spend why not lay back and watch a good movie? Today I will be reviewing one of my favorite movies of all time, Tokyo Drift.
First of all, theater as well, as the film is the form of entertainment. Theater was one of the first forms of arts that made people feel emotion: sadness, laughter, thoughtfulness while being entertained. By watching actors perform on the stage the viewers live and feel every moment and emotion. The amusement that comes with life performance is extremely inspiring and motivating. The point of entertainment is to capture the attention of the audience and that's what
